Ⅰ、Analysis of the teaching material
These two periods are about the second part of this unit. They are reading lessons. The topic is “A Long and Healthy Life”. Such a topic is closely related to students daily life so it can easily raise their learning interest. The words and expressions to be taught in these lessons will be helpful for students to learn the writing part of this unit. The key points of these lessons are how to make the students get the general idea of the passage and master the following words、phrases and the usage of the present tense:die、smoke、stress、alcohol、rarely、vacation、occasionally、learn from、stress out、take the stairs. The difficult point is how to enable the students to use the present tense properly.
Ⅱ、Analysis of the students
The students are freshmen majoring in tourism management. Most of them are outgoing girls. They behave actively in the class. Some students have told me they want to learn English well,because they like travelling and they hope to go abroad as guides several years later. Mastering English especially spoken English is significant to them.
Ⅲ、Teaching aims
(1)Knowledge aims:Students will be able to use the words and phrases in the passage correctly and master the grammar tips of the present tense.
(2)Ability aims:Train the students abilities of working in groups and using the Internet to learn English by themselves.
(3)Emotional aims:Cultivate the students interest in studying English and help them enhance self-confidence;make the students be aware of the importance of both physical and mental health.

Period 1:
Stage 1 Pre-reading
I will have the class brainstorm a list of important things in their life,such as car、house、love、family、work、health and so on. Then Ill ask the students to finish a questionnaire about sub-health. At last of this part,the students asked to have a guess:Do you know in which country people live the longest?
The purposes of my design are to attract the students attention and arouse their interest to talk about their health problems. And by having a guess I can lead them to the topic naturally.
Stage 2 While-reading
Task one:Skim the passage and match the main idea to each paragraph it belongs to. While doing this task,the students are required to do some exercises about each paragraph. Task two:Choose the best answer.
The purpose of my design is to train the students reading ability and make them get a general idea of this passage:the secret of a long and healthy life.
Stage 3 Post-reading
Discussion:What are your living habits?
After the discussion,I will play a video about some other healthy lifestyles,like keeping a good mood、living in good environment、getting close to nature. They belong to physical health styles. We also should pay attention to metal health. Here is an example about Lin Senhao.
The purpose of my design is to educate the students focus on both physical health and mental health.
Stage 4 Assignment
1. Surf online to find more tips to live a long and healthy life.
2. Write a letter to your parents or your friends on how to live long and healthy.
The purpose of my design is to make the students get more information about how to keep healthy and use the information to write a letter.
Period 2:
Stage 1 Revision

The purpose of my design is to have a review about the words and phrases the students have learned in the listening and speaking part.

狀態(tài):
經(jīng)常性:"經(jīng)常發(fā)生的動作",比如每天起床、吃飯、上學(xué),一個星期去幾次超市或新華書店等。
規(guī)律性:在生活中,有的事情是有規(guī)律的,有的是偶爾做幾次。
習(xí)慣性:這個動作經(jīng)常發(fā)生,是一般的情況而不是具體的某一次。
真理性:有些動作或狀態(tài)是永恒的,比如長江向東流、地球繞著太陽轉(zhuǎn),比如諺語中舉的事例、文學(xué)作品中描繪的事例,像“好馬不吃回頭草”等等。
