Everyone knows that it’s important to exercise if you want to keep fit and healthy. However, exercising at a traditional gym isn’t always fun.
Luckily, a gym in New York City is changing the way people work out. The sports center, Asphalt Green, opens a new gym called AG6. This gym is turning exercise into something more like a video game. There are lots of circles and lights on the walls and floors in the gym. People play quick, high-energy games at a number of different areas in the gym. At one area, they have to throw balls at luminous circles. At another, they hop from square to square as each one lights up. Music and lights let them know when to take breaks.
There is an intense 45-minute class in AG6. It is thought to be “high-intensity interval training”, or “HIIT”. In this form of exercise, people work out hard for short periods of time, so the body continues to burn energy after the exercise. The important thing, however, is that people can have fun as they exercise. At Asphalt Green, AG6 means that there is no boring exercise.

1. What is special about AG6?
2. Do we need to exercise at a gym? Why or why not?
Do you want to eat more healthily? Try Food Trainer! This app, also called FoodT, was developed by a group of scientists at the University of Exeter in the UK. It helps people eat less junk food through a game.
In the free game, healthy food always appears in green circles and unhealthy food always comes in red circles. Some other everyday objects, such as pencils and sweaters, appear randomly in the green or red circles. Once a user taps on an object in the green circle, he or she gets a point. But tapping on an object in the red circle deducts a point.
Does this easy game work well? The developers of the App carried out a study. They invited more than 1,200 volunteers to play the game once a day. After a month, the volunteers reported changes in their diet and weight. Most of them said they had started eating more healthy food. On average, each volunteer lost more than half a kilogram of weight.
The App works so well! That’s because it uses brain training techniques to make people lose interest in junk food. Through practice, the game trains users’ brains to put the brakes on as soon as they see junk food. This helps users say no to unhealthy food in their daily lives!

Hello, everyone! I’m Li Ming. Today, I’m very happy to share my healthy lifestyle with all of you.
I exercise with my parents every day. We often run and go swimming. They can keep us healthy.
I have a good eating habit. I try to eat more fruit and vegetables every day because they are good for our health. I seldom eat sweets.
I often go to bed early and get up early. I never stay up. I sleep for about 8 hours a day.
I often read books in my free time to relax. Reading is fun and can make me learn more about things.
It is important for us to have a healthy lifestyle.
That’s all. Thank you for your listening!
Hello, everyone! I’m Li Ming. Today, I’m very happy to share my healthy lifestyle with all of you.
Exercise is a good way to keep us healthy. So I run or go swimming with my parents for one hour every day.
Also, I have a good eating habit. I never miss the breakfast and often have an egg, bread and milk. I try to eat more fruit and vegetables too. But I seldom eat sweets because too much sugar is bad for our teeth.
To keep fit, it is also necessary to get enough sleep. So I seldom stay up. I sleep for about 8 hours most nights to have lots of energy for the next day.
Besides, I often read books in my free time to relax myself. Reading is fun and can make me learn more about things.
It is important for us to have a healthy lifestyle. Let’s try our best to live a healthy life before it is too late.
That’s all. Thank you for your listening!
