單數(shù)變復(fù)數(shù),意義大不同

英語中有些單詞看上去只是由名詞的單數(shù)變成了復(fù)數(shù),但實際上單詞的意義發(fā)生了很大的變化,不信快來看看吧!

1. air和airs

air意思是“空氣、大氣”。We must breathe fresh air. (我們要呼吸新鮮空氣。)

airs意思是“架子、神氣”。put on airs(擺架子)

2. arm和arms

arm意思是“臂膀”。Tom held his father in his arms. (湯姆用雙手抱住了他的父親。)

arms意思是“武器”。Does the police force carry arms? (警察部隊帶武器了嗎?)

3. blue和blues

blue意思是“藍(lán)色”。She was dressed all in blue. (她全身衣服都是藍(lán)色的。)
