The Pursuit of Happyness，中文譯名《當幸福來敲門》，2006年12月上映，是一部由加布里爾·穆奇諾執(zhí)導，斯蒂夫·康拉德?lián)尉巹?，威爾·史密斯、賈登·史密斯（威爾·史密斯兒子）等主演的電影。2007年，影片獲得第9屆青少年選擇獎最佳劇情電影。電影由真實故事改編，講述了一位瀕臨破產(chǎn)的落魄業(yè)務員，如何刻苦耐勞、善盡單親責任，奮發(fā)向上成為股市交易員，最后成為知名金融投資家的勵志故事。

劇情簡介：克里斯用全部積蓄買下了高料技治療儀并到處問醫(yī)院推銷，可是價格高昂，接受的人不多。無論他多努力都無法提供一個良好的生活環(huán)境給妻兒，妻子最終選擇離開，從此他與兒子克里斯托夫相依為命?？死锼购貌蝗菀谞幦〉揭粋€股票投資公司實習的機會，就算沒有報酬，成功機會只有百分之五，他仍努力奮斗。他看盡白眼，與兒子躲在地鐵站的公共廁所里，住在教堂的收容所里……他堅信，幸福明天就會來臨。最終，他獲得了公司的認司，也賣光了囤積的儀器，生活苦盡甘來。

Jay： Uh， he's been waiting outside the front of the building with some40-pound 9）gizmo for over a month.

Mr. FrolNm： He said you're smart.

Chris： Well， I like to think so.

Mr. Frohm： And you want to learn this business？

Chris： Yes， sir， I wanna learn this business.

Mr. Frohm： Have you already started learning on your own？

Chris： Absolutely.

Jay： Yes， sir.

Mr. Frohm： How many times have you seen Chris？

Jay： Oh， I don't know. One too many， apparently.

Mr. Frohm： Was he ever dressed like this？

Jay： No. No. Jacket and tie.

Mr. Frohm： First in your class in school？ High school？

Chris： Yes， sir.

Mr. Frohm： How many in the class？

Chris： Twelve. It's a small town.

Mr. Frohm： I'll say.

Chris： But I was also first in my radar class， in the 1"Navy， and that was a classof 20. Can I say something？ I'm the type of person， if you ask me aquestion， and I don't know the answer， I'm gonna tell you that I don'tknow. But I bet you what， I know how to find the answer， and I will findthe answer. Is that 12）fair enough？

Mr. Frohm： Chris. What would you say if a guy walked in for an interview，without a shirt on？ And | 13）hired him， what would you say？

為什么電影名是happyness而不是happiness？

據(jù)說是因為這樣A電影的原名ThePursuit of Happiness是《獨立宣言》中確立人的三項權力之一，即生命、自由、追求幸福。在《獨立宣言》剛開頭就有這樣的一段：We hold these truths to be self-evident，thatall men are created equal， that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienableRights， that among these are Life， Liberty， and the pursuit of Happiness.

i諧音I（我），y諧音Why（為什么）。There is no“Why”inHappiness.Thereis“I”。幸福里沒有為什么。幸福里一定要有我！電影故意用“Happiness”就是為了表達幸福不是必然，需要奮斗而來。

第一次出現(xiàn)happyness的時候，男主在他孩子的托兒所外的涂鴉墻上看到了這個錯誤的單詞，于是他就向旁邊掃地的大爺說：Excuse me.Oh，excuseme，uh，when is somebodygonna clean this off？ And the "Y"？ The "Y". We talked about this. It's an "I" in "happiness."There's no "Y" in "happiness." This is an "I".

第二次出現(xiàn)happyness的時候，男主在教他的兒子happiness的正確拼法：It's writtenas P-P-Y， but it's supposed to be an "I" in "happiness". Actually it's a noun. But it's notspelled right.

這就是將電影起名為“The Pursuit of Happyness”的原因。

克里斯想要帶孩子去看橄欖球比賽，卻不得不因為工作繁忙而食言，于是玩起了文字游戲。父子之間的對話讓人覺得有趣的同時，也讓人心疼這懂事的孩子。

possibly-perhaps-maybe-probably 副詞辨析

這四個詞都表示“可能”，它們之間各自有什么不同之處呢？請看下圖：

1.possibly是“或許：也許”，所指的可能性較小。為加強語氣，可與can或could連用：與may連用，表示的可能性更小。例如：

It may possibly be true.也許是真的。（希望不大）

2.perhaps是“或許”，含有“可能這樣，也可能不這樣”之意，其含義和用法與maybe一樣，多用于口語。maybe多用于美式英語。例如：
