Brother and sister Millicent and John are slaves1 on Simon Plentys plantation2. They have suffered3 a lot one after another. Their parents had told them old tales about how their ancestors4 had flown away as easy as a bird.

Millicent and John hold these stories in their hearts long after their parents are gone. “Maybe such a time will come for you，” their parents said. Then one day a mysterious5 bird showed up in their life. The bird transformed6 them and gave them the courage7 to escape8.

●China Has 3，700 More Special Education9 Teachers in 2019

China had 62，400 teachers for special education schools by the end of 2019， up 3，700 year on year， according to a report by the Ministry of Education.

The number marks10 a 6.31-percent-increase11 from the year 2018. The teachers work for 2，192 special education schools of the country reported on Chinas education in 2019.

Nearly half of special education students have classes in regular12 schools， while 21.5% were taught by teachers sent to their homes， according to the report.

根據教育部的一份報告，截至2019年底，中國特殊教育學校的教師有62，400名，同比增長3，700名。
