N ot long ago， President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi held the second informal summit in Chennai of India. They walked and talked among ancient temples， and discussed the world under the deep sky. It was in the friendly， relaxed， pragmatic and efficient conversation that the two leaders made strategic guidance for the development of bilateral relations between China and India， setting the tone for the next stage and pointing out the direction.

不久前，習(xí)近平主席與莫迪總理在印度金奈舉行了中印領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人第二次非正式會(huì)晤，雙方在古寺廟群間，邊走邊談，在深邃星空下，縱論天下。正是在這種友好輕松、務(wù)實(shí)高效的交談中，兩國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人為中印雙邊關(guān)系的發(fā)展作出了戰(zhàn)略引領(lǐng)，為下一階段的發(fā)展確定了基調(diào)、指明了方向。

Our world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century. The western developed economies are facing multiple challenges， while the developing countries have risen collectively. China and India are maintaining strong growth momentum and rising influence. In this context， the two countries should not only have a correct view of each others development， but also work together to achieve common development，"Mutual Achievement， Mutual Illumination".

當(dāng)今世界正經(jīng)歷百年未有之大變局，西方發(fā)達(dá)經(jīng)濟(jì)體面臨多重挑戰(zhàn)，發(fā)展中國(guó)家群體性崛起，中印兩國(guó)保持著強(qiáng)勁的增長(zhǎng)動(dòng)力，影響力不斷上升。在這種大背景下，兩國(guó)既要正確看待對(duì)方發(fā)展，更要攜手實(shí)現(xiàn)共同發(fā)展，“相互成就、相互‘照亮”。

China and India are the only two countries in the world with a population of more than one billion. The markets are huge， the industrial structures are complementary， and the prospects for cooperation are broad. The business communities of China and India are eager to strengthen economic and trade cooperation. More than 1，000 Chinese companies have established operations in India， creating 200，000 jobs for the local community. More than two-thirds of Indian companies investing in China have made steady profits.

中印是世界上僅有的兩個(gè)人口超過(guò)10億的大國(guó)，市場(chǎng)規(guī)模巨大，產(chǎn)業(yè)結(jié)構(gòu)互補(bǔ)，合作前景廣闊。中印工商界熱切期盼加強(qiáng)經(jīng)貿(mào)合作。目前已有1000多家中國(guó)公司在印度開(kāi)展業(yè)務(wù)，為當(dāng)?shù)貏?chuàng)造了20萬(wàn)個(gè)就業(yè)機(jī)會(huì)。超過(guò)2/3的印度赴華投資企業(yè)穩(wěn)定盈利。

This year is the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. Bilateral relations will face new opportunities for development. Guided by the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi， we should continue to expand the cake of cooperation， blaze a new path of common development and win-win cooperation among emerging countries， to realize the Dragons-Elephants Dance.

今年是中印兩國(guó)建交70周年，雙邊關(guān)系將面臨新的發(fā)展契機(jī)。中印兩國(guó)各界應(yīng)以習(xí)近平主席和莫迪總理達(dá)成的重要共識(shí)為引領(lǐng)，不斷做大合作蛋糕，走出一條新興大國(guó)共同發(fā)展、合作共贏之路，實(shí)現(xiàn)龍象共舞。

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Peoples Republic of China to the Republic of India

2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the Peoples Republic of China. As two ancient civilizations and important neighbours to each other， India and China have enjoyed historical and civilizational bonds that go back more than two millennia. As two modern nation states， they have also expanded their bilateral， political， economic， cultural and people-to-people contacts in the last few decades. It is indeed reflective of the importance attached by both countries to their bilateral relations that Prime Minister Modi and President Xi， when they met in Chennai in October 2019 for the Second Informal Summit， decided to celebrate this important milestone in our diplomatic relations by observing 2020 as the India-China Year of Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges， as well as by holding 70 commemorative activities， which would inspire us to further expand our bilateral engagements and deepen the relationship between our two countries at all levels.

2020年是印中兩國(guó)建交70周年。作為世界兩大文明古國(guó)，印中互為鄰邦，雙方的歷史交往可以追溯至兩千多年前。而作為兩個(gè)現(xiàn)代化國(guó)家，雙方的政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化和人文交往在過(guò)去幾十年里也經(jīng)歷了長(zhǎng)足發(fā)展。2019年10月，莫迪總理和習(xí)近平主席在金奈舉行第二次非正式會(huì)晤，決定要舉辦70項(xiàng)慶?；顒?dòng)，指定2020年為“印中人文交流年”。這充分表明了兩國(guó)對(duì)雙邊關(guān)系給予的重視，將激勵(lì)我們進(jìn)一步加強(qiáng)雙邊溝通合作，全面深化兩國(guó)交往。

In the realm of trade and economic contacts， India and China are important partners for each other. While bilateral trade reached $95 billion in 2018， more balanced trade， reductions in the bilateral trade deficit and a level playing field for Indian companies supplying goods and services are key priorities for India. It is hoped that increased market access for Indian pharmaceuticals and agricultural products in China will go some way in addressing the bilateral trade deficit. Indian IT/ITeS too is reputed globally and could benefit Chinese companies by providing high-quality and competitive services. At the same time， India is a major destination for Foreign Direct Investment （FDI） and， following the adoption of many positive measures by the Government， the business environment has continuously improved. This has increased the potential avenues for investment into India by Chinese enterprises. In this context， the High-Level Economic and Trade Dialogue mechanism and the India-China Manufacturing Partnership emerging from the Chennai Informal Summit offer new vistas for cooperation.

印中兩國(guó)在經(jīng)貿(mào)領(lǐng)域也已成為重要合作伙伴。2018年，雙邊貿(mào)易額達(dá)到950億美元。貿(mào)易更加均衡，貿(mào)易逆差進(jìn)一步縮小，為印度企業(yè)創(chuàng)造更加公平的貿(mào)易環(huán)境已經(jīng)成為印度的優(yōu)先事務(wù)。希望進(jìn)一步擴(kuò)大印度醫(yī)藥和農(nóng)產(chǎn)品在華市場(chǎng)準(zhǔn)入將有助于解決雙邊貿(mào)易逆差問(wèn)題。同時(shí)，印度擁有世界知名的信息技術(shù)，能夠?yàn)橹袊?guó)企業(yè)提供高質(zhì)量和高性?xún)r(jià)比的服務(wù)。此外，印度還是世界重要的投資勝地，隨著印度政府推行一系列鼓勵(lì)投資的政策，印度的商業(yè)環(huán)境得到持續(xù)改善，為中國(guó)企業(yè)投資印度創(chuàng)造了良好機(jī)遇。印中兩國(guó)金奈非正式會(huì)晤建立了高層經(jīng)貿(mào)對(duì)話(huà)機(jī)制以及印中制造業(yè)合作伙伴關(guān)系，為經(jīng)貿(mào)合作提供了新的可能性。

In parallel， people-to-people exchanges， including in areas such as tourism， entertainment and movies， culture and sports not only contribute to greater understanding between the people of India and China， but can also yield opportunities for imaginative entrepreneurs in both countries. At Wuhan in 2018， our leaders had directed the setting up of a High Level Mechanism on Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges led by the Foreign Ministers of both countries. The mechanism has already met twice and has identified ten areas of cooperation， many of which will be focus areas in 2020.

此外，雙方在旅游、電影、文化和體育方面的互動(dòng)不僅有益于進(jìn)一步增進(jìn)雙方互信，也能為兩國(guó)具有想象力的創(chuàng)業(yè)者提供新的發(fā)展機(jī)遇。2018年，兩國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人在武漢要求建立高級(jí)別人文交流機(jī)制，該機(jī)制由兩國(guó)外交部長(zhǎng)為牽頭人。在該機(jī)制下，雙方迄今為止已會(huì)晤兩次，確定了十大合作領(lǐng)域，其中多項(xiàng)合作將在2020年全面展開(kāi)。

Overall， the 70th Anniversary of India-China Diplomatic Relations offers both our countries new prospects and new possibilities. We hope to transform these into reality， taking further steps towards the Asian Century， in which both India and China have a prominent part to play.

總之，印中兩國(guó)建交70周年將為兩國(guó)關(guān)系發(fā)展開(kāi)啟嶄新篇章。印中兩國(guó)將在亞洲世紀(jì)扮演重要角色。我們殷切希望能夠?qū)蓢?guó)的合作愿景轉(zhuǎn)化為現(xiàn)實(shí)成果，向亞洲世紀(jì)邁進(jìn)一大步。

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Peoples Republic of China

T he economic and trade history of China and India can be traced back to a thousand years ago. Since entering the new era， as the scale and demand of the Indian market have been constantly expanding， more and more Chinese enterprises have come to India to invest， do business and conduct economic and trade cooperation， and their investment scale and quality have been constantly expanding and improving. More than 1，000 Chinese companies have invested $8 billion and created 200，000 jobs in India. As the two most populous countries in the world， China and India have broad space for further development of economic and trade relations featuring win-win cooperation. Chinese companies can make great achievements in India.

中印兩國(guó)經(jīng)貿(mào)歷史可追溯至千年。進(jìn)入新時(shí)代以來(lái)，隨著印度市場(chǎng)規(guī)模與需求不斷擴(kuò)大，來(lái)印度投資、興業(yè)、開(kāi)展經(jīng)貿(mào)合作的的中資企業(yè)越來(lái)越多，投資規(guī)模和質(zhì)量不斷擴(kuò)大和提高。目前約有1000多家中資企業(yè)在印投資建廠(chǎng)，累計(jì)投資額達(dá)80億美元，為當(dāng)?shù)貏?chuàng)造了20萬(wàn)個(gè)工作崗位。中印兩國(guó)作為世界上人口最多的兩個(gè)國(guó)家，進(jìn)一步發(fā)展合作共贏的經(jīng)貿(mào)關(guān)系，具有廣闊的發(fā)展空間，中資企業(yè)在印度大有作為。

Representative offices in foreign countries and regions are an important part of networking of CCPIT， to conduct trade and investment promotion and commercial legal services work an important window and bridge and platform， its main task is to establish and consolidate the Chinese and foreign business contacts， promote business communication between China and foreign countries， to promote pragmatic cooperation between enterprises and the bilateral economic and trade relations. Faced with Chinese enterprises "going out" to speed up the pace， the development of overseas interests extend new posture， the representative office in India will an accordance with the Indian and regional trade and economic characteristics， actively develop and exchange with the local chamber of commerce， trade promotion organizations， extensively collect of regional policy trends， market environment， economic and trade opportunities， cooperation projects， and carry out economic and trade exchanges and assistance for trade frictions in an indevour effort to improve the level of service and the ability of Chinese enterprises， promote early warning and prompt response on risks for the enterprises.

The representative office will strive to improve the overall service capability， closely contact with Chinese enterprises in India， regularly organize and hold exchanges between Chinese and Indian enterprises， listen to and solve the difficulties and problems encountered by enterprises， help safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises， help Chinese enterprises in the international competition to grow fast and strong.

2020 is the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China. 2020 is the 125th year since the Confederation of Indian Industry （CII） was founded. 2020 is the 25th year since CII connected with China. 2020 is the 17th year since CII Shanghai office was established.

2020 年注定是不平凡的一年。2020 年是中印兩國(guó)建交 70 周年，同時(shí)也是印度工業(yè)聯(lián)合會(huì)（CII）成立 125 周年。2020 年是印度工業(yè)聯(lián)合會(huì)同中國(guó)建立合作的第 25 個(gè)年頭，也是印度工業(yè)聯(lián)合會(huì)上海代表處成立的第17 個(gè)年頭。

The Confederation of Indian Industry （CII） is pleased to be associated with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade （CCPIT） in this Special Issue for celebrating the 70th Anniversary of India-China Diplomatic Relations.

印度工業(yè)聯(lián)合會(huì)很高興能與中國(guó)國(guó)際貿(mào)易促進(jìn)委員會(huì)合作，參與《中國(guó)—印度建交 70 周年特刊》的編著。

Both India and China are countries with long histories. As neighboring countries， the friendly exchanges between India and China date back to ancient times. We are also two biggest developing countries and emerging economies in the world. In recent years， both countries have maintained communication， deepened our understanding and developed our friendship. India-China economic and trade cooperation has developed steadily and moved to new stages. India-China relations are not only important for our two countries but take on regional and global significance.

In the recent years， we have been witnessing more and more highlevel dialogues between the two Governments， which have contributed greatly to economic cooperation on both sides. Since the signing of strategic partnership， the volume of bilateral trade and investment between India and China has been increasing rapidly. The fruitful cooperation demonstrates the crucial role played by the two big developing countries in the world economy.

作為印度最重要的協(xié)會(huì)組織，印度工業(yè)聯(lián)合會(huì)一直致力于推進(jìn)中印兩國(guó)之間的經(jīng)貿(mào)合作與交流。我們堅(jiān)信，中印經(jīng)濟(jì)伙伴關(guān)系對(duì)于亞洲地區(qū)乃至世界的繁榮與發(fā)展至關(guān)重要。

As the premier industry association in India， the Confederation of Indian Industry （CII） is dedicated to promoting India China trade and economic exchanges and cooperation.
