打臉（雙語加油站）

“打臉”的第一個意思是“用手打面部”。英語譯為slap sb in/around the face, to give sb a slap in the face, to hit/smack/punch sb in the face。例如：1.那個教師因為打了一名男生的臉而被解雇了。The teacher was sacked for having slapped a boy student around the face.

“打臉”的第二個意思是“羞辱”或“ 不給面子”， 譯為to slap sb in the face, to give sb a slap in the face。如：2. 她當眾揭穿了這個騙子的謊言，打了他的臉。She exposed the cheaters lie in public, giving him a slap in the face.

“被打臉”有“被羞辱”或“丟面子” 的意思。英語譯為to be slap in the face, to be given a slap in the face。如：3.當他的禮物被原封不動地退回時，他感到仿佛被打臉了。He felt as if he had been given a slap in the face when his gift was returned unopened.

“打臉”的第三個意思是“戲曲演員按照臉譜勾臉”。英語譯為to draw a facial mask。如：4. 開戲前，這名京劇演員正在后臺化妝室打臉。The Peking opera actor was drawing his facial mask in the dressing room of the back stage before the performance started.▲
