The Dubai Miracle Garden is properly2 named considering that—like pretty much everything in the Middle Eastern city—it was built on desert land. Being as the worlds largest natural flower garden, the 72,000-square-meter attraction3 has more than 60 million flowers on display. Located in Dubailand near the Arabian Ranches, it opened on Valentines Day in 2013 and now attracts up to 1.5 million visitors a year.
It is one of a kind in the region and in the world for such a unique display and extravagant4 outdoor recreational5 destination. Miracle Garden in its First Phase is providing state of the art services and facilities including open parking, VIP parking, sitting areas, prayer room, toilet blocks, bathing facility, security room, first aid room, carts for handicapped visitors, retails and commercial kiosk and all other related services available to facilitate visitors.
The garden structures are changed every season to ensure6 repeat visitors get a different experience each time they go. Highlights have included a life-size replica7 of the Emirates Airbus A380, which received the Guinness Book of World Records “l(fā)argest floral installation8” title in 2016. “People get tired of malls, closed places,” Abdel Nasser Y. Rahhal, the man behind the attraction, told us. “I hope people will understand that this country is not only for extremes in concrete and steel. This country is given beautiful weather for seven months...with a little care, you can get a really beautiful production.”
Flowers are preserved by re-using waste water through drip irrigation9. The gardens are closed during Dubais hot summer months, with average temperatures 40℃ from June to September. However, the garden is also home to the regions first indoor butterfly garden and sanctuary10, Dubai Butterfly Garden, which is open all year round.
