Grace (intrepreter): 你好！

(Anke is whispering with Grace.)

Host: You’re…you’re…you’re telling your own jokes. What’s happening here?

This is a very, very pretty dress.

Grace: 他說你這個裙子非常好看。

陳安可：Thank you.

Host: Thank you, yes, yes. Do you practice every day?

Grace: 你每天有練……你的有沒有練鋼琴？

陳安可：我每天都練，沒有一天不練的。

Grace: She practices every day. ①There’s never a day where she doesn’t practice.

Host: When you grow up, do you wanna be ②a professional piano player?

Grace: 你長大想不想當(dāng)一個……②一個特別厲害的鋼琴家？

陳安可：我長大了想要當(dāng)一個鋼琴大師。

Host: She says, “③What else would I be?”

Grace: She wants to be exactly what you just said.

Host: Yeah, I told you I know what’s going on…

陳安可：我就想當(dāng)一個鋼琴大師。

Grace: 我剛說了。

陳安可：那你沒有說piano啊。

Host: You say what I said!

陳安可：你沒有說piano，你可沒說，鋼琴不是piano嘛？

Host: She…she’s actually driving the interpreter crazy. The little girl, she only 12.

Let me ask you, how long have you been playing the piano?

Grace: 你彈鋼琴彈了多少年了？

陳安可：我彈了……就彈了一年半。

Grace: One year and a half.

Host: What?!

Grace: One year and a half.

Host: How did you start?

Grace: 你是怎么開始彈鋼琴的？

陳安可：爸爸叫我彈……爸爸讓我彈鋼琴，我就彈鋼琴。然后我就自己彈鋼琴了。

Host: I know that’s right. That’s what I said.

Grace: I’ll try to translate that the best I can. She said, “My dad wanted me to.”

陳安可：我爸在那邊呢，④穿一套白色的?？匆娏藛?？

Grace: She said, “My dad is right there. ④The one with the white shirt.

Host: This little girl is really five years old.

陳安可：打招呼呢，爸爸。

Host: She’s just talking to her dad.

陳安可：爸爸，給你打招呼呢。

Host: Daddy, do you hear me? Say somethin’.

Grace: That’s exactly what she said.

Host: I know! Exactly!

The thing I love about her? She’s just a kid. Nobody’s making her do nothing.

① “沒有一天不想你”“沒有一屆他不拿第一的”……你想過這個在漢語中我們幾乎每天都說或聽到的話怎么用英語表達(dá)嗎？它在英語里其實(shí)很簡單，就是用一個與漢語相似的雙重否定句：there’s never a day/year/month/semester…where…no/not…注意：句式中的連接詞要用where，它在這里充當(dāng)關(guān)系副詞。

② 主持人說的是professional piano player（職業(yè)鋼琴家），而翻譯說的是“特別厲害的鋼琴家”，因?yàn)槲鍤q的小安可未必知道“職業(yè)鋼琴家”的真正含義，翻譯就用了小孩能明白的表達(dá)。應(yīng)變能力是現(xiàn)場翻譯的基本要求。

③ What else would…?（除……之外，還會有別的可能嗎？）這是假設(shè)性問句，所以需要用虛擬語氣，即“would+動詞原形”。

④ 小安可說的是“穿一套白色的”，翻譯則譯成：The one with the white shirt。重申：翻譯要懂得應(yīng)變。小安可說的“穿一套白色的”其實(shí)并不準(zhǔn)確，因?yàn)樾“部傻陌职种挥猩弦率前咨?，所以翻譯用了更準(zhǔn)確的shirt。
