ANN HUI'S THE GOLDEN CANGUE BASED ON

A dramatized version of writer Eileen Chang's story, “The Golden Cangue,”will be staged at Guangzhou Opera House. Directed by Ann Hui, scripted by Wang Anyi, and played by Perry Chiu, this version will be more concise and focused on the life of Cao Qiqiao, a Chinese woman in 1920s China who marries into a wealthy family.
