Hangzhou sees big festivals and expositions, but the Xixi International Arts Festival, first held in 2015, seems negligently small. For more than two months, domestic and international troupes staged nine plays and held more than 40 events. The festival attracted a lot of theatergoers and appealed especially to the young.
