金伯利鉆石礦坑Kimberley mines in South Africa

南非金伯利是世界知名的德比爾斯鉆石公司總部所在地，是世界上最早(1869年)發(fā)現(xiàn)金伯利巖型金剛石原生礦床的地方，現(xiàn)在世界上一些最大的鉆石仍然產(chǎn)于該地。

金伯利鉆石礦坑，從1866年至1914年，50000名礦工使用鐵鏟等工具進行挖掘，共挖掘出2722公斤鉆石。目前，南非政府正試圖將金伯利礦坑申請為一處世界文化遺址。

Kimberley in South Africa is where the headquarter of the world's famous jewellery company De Beers is, it is the world's oldest (1869) place that all primary ore of kimberlite diamonds are found, which now is still some of the largest diamonds in the world are produced in.

The Kimberley diamond mine, which 50,000 miners started to use shovels and other tools to dig from 1866 to 1914, and 2722 kg diamonds were found. Currently South Africa Government is trying to apply the Kimberley mines for a world heritage site.
