英語(yǔ)中情感域名量結(jié)構(gòu)分析

量詞是用來(lái)表示數(shù)量，與名詞連用的詞語(yǔ)。從形狀類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)用作量詞、氣體類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)用作量詞、液體類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)用作量詞、自然現(xiàn)象詞語(yǔ)用作量詞、具有靈性的詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞、時(shí)間性詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾名詞、容量型詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞、度量衡量詞等八個(gè)方面分析了情感域名量結(jié)構(gòu)。

情感域；名量結(jié)構(gòu)

量詞是用來(lái)表示數(shù)量，與名詞連用的詞語(yǔ)，英語(yǔ)中有三種量詞：度量衡單位(measure partitive)、具體量詞(typical partitive) 和一般量詞(general partitive)。(Jack C. Richards, 2004: 333)

一 英語(yǔ)中情感域名量結(jié)構(gòu)分析

英語(yǔ)中情感域名詞具有物質(zhì)屬性，包括：情感是物質(zhì)具有形狀、情感是氣體和液體具有動(dòng)態(tài)性、情感是一種自然現(xiàn)象、情感具有靈性、情感具有時(shí)間性、情感表示容器、情感具有度量衡的特性。

1. 形狀類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)用作量詞。

英語(yǔ)中的形狀類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)可以當(dāng)作量詞來(lái)修飾情感域名詞語(yǔ)，如bundle, drop, lump, ray, shred, speck等。

bundle意思是捆，束，包；a bundle of表示大量，廣泛。

例1 Married couples should see a bundle of joy as a bundle of trouble.

孩子的降臨會(huì)帶來(lái)無(wú)盡的煩惱和歡樂(lè)。

drop意思是滴；a drop of表示少量，微量，一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)。

例2 When talking about his son, there is a drop of pride in his look.

談到他兒子他臉上有一絲自豪。

ray射線(xiàn)，光束，光線(xiàn)；a ray of一絲，一線(xiàn)(希望、慰藉等)。

例3 They could provide a ray of hope amid the general business and economic gloom.

在普遍的商業(yè)和經(jīng)濟(jì)低潮中，他們能帶來(lái)一線(xiàn)希望。

speck污點(diǎn)，痕跡，斑點(diǎn)，小塊； a speck of一絲，一線(xiàn)。

例4 There is a speck of sadness on his face.

她臉上有一絲悲傷。

lump塊，團(tuán)；a lump of塊。

例5 Telling the stories has become tedious, as she has done so many times. But there is till a lump of hatred in her mind.

過(guò)去的故事她已經(jīng)講了很多次了，已經(jīng)很厭煩了，但是她心里仍然有一股仇恨。

shred細(xì)條，碎片；a shred of極少量，些許，一丁點(diǎn)兒。

例6 There is no a shred of credibility is her words.

她的話(huà)一點(diǎn)兒都不可信。

2.氣體類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)用作量詞。

英語(yǔ)中的氣體類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾情感類(lèi)名詞，具有動(dòng)態(tài)性。

blaze熊熊燃燒；A blaze of大量的，情感的突然爆發(fā)。

例7 In a blaze of fury he shouted at his wife.

狂怒之下,他沖著他太太吼叫。

flicker閃爍，閃光；a flicker of (情感的)閃現(xiàn)，一閃而過(guò)。

例8 He felt a flicker of regret.

他突然感到一絲悔意。

flash閃耀，閃光；a flash of突發(fā)，忽然的一陣。

例9 What did Moira tell you? Liz demanded with a flash of anger.

“莫伊拉跟你說(shuō)什么啦？”利茲突然生氣地質(zhì)問(wèn)道。

sparkle光亮，活力；a sparkle of閃爍。

例10 A sparkle of merriment or delight is appearing in his eyes.

他眼睛中高興或興奮的光。

類(lèi)似的表達(dá)還有a flutter of，a gleam of, a glisten of, a glitter of, a glimmer of, a glow of, a sparkle of, a shimmer of, a twinkle of都可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾情感域詞。

3.液體類(lèi)詞語(yǔ)用作量詞。

英語(yǔ)中的一些液體動(dòng)態(tài)性的詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾情感域詞，表示情感象液體一樣具有動(dòng)態(tài)性，如burst, gush, rush, surge, wave等。

burst決堤；a burst of短暫的突然發(fā)作；一陣。

例11 A burst of joy and cry was from the crowd.

人群中爆發(fā)出興奮的叫聲。

gush涌流，噴出，冒出；a gush of情感的突然涌出。

例12 She felt a gush of pure affection for her mother.

對(duì)母親的愛(ài)突然涌上她的心頭。

rush (空氣或液體)迅速流動(dòng)，奔涌；a rush of(感情)突如其來(lái)的一陣。

例13 Tears welled up uncontrollable in his eyes, and he was consumed by a rush of sadness.

他淚水止不住涌上雙眼,心中充滿(mǎn)了一陣突如其來(lái)的悲傷。

surge (風(fēng)、水等的)奔涌，洶涌；a surge of (情感的)突發(fā)，涌現(xiàn)，突然出現(xiàn)。

例14 “It must be very difficult.” Said Hunter, feeling a surge of embarrassment for Diane’s predicament.

“那肯定不好過(guò)，”亨特說(shuō)，突然為黛安娜的困境感到很為難。

wave波浪；a wave of (情緒的)突發(fā)，高漲。

例15 She felt a wave of regret.

她感到一陣后悔。

4. 自然現(xiàn)象詞語(yǔ)用作量詞。

英語(yǔ)中一些自然現(xiàn)象的詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾情感域詞語(yǔ)，如flood, gale, gust, hail, light, sea, spate, storm, torrent等。

flood洪水，水災(zāi)；a flood of充滿(mǎn)……的感情。

例16 We had a flood of hatred to the enemies.

對(duì)于敵人我們滿(mǎn)腔仇恨。

gust一陣強(qiáng)風(fēng)，一陣狂風(fēng)；a gust of(感情的)迸發(fā)，爆發(fā)。

例17 On hearing the news, she felt a small gust of pleasure.

聽(tīng)到這個(gè)消息，她感到一陣歡喜。

sea海，海洋；a sea of大量。

例18 There is a sea of happiness in the children’s face.

孩子們臉上蕩漾著幸福。

torrent急流，激流，洪流；A torrent of (謾罵、問(wèn)題等的)連發(fā)，迸發(fā)。

例19 He turned round and directed a torrent of abuse at me.

他轉(zhuǎn)過(guò)身來(lái)沖我劈頭蓋臉地罵了一通。

類(lèi)似的表示自然現(xiàn)象的詞語(yǔ)還有a storm of, a hail of, a spate of等，表示感情象自然現(xiàn)象一樣爆發(fā)，迸發(fā)等。

5. 具有靈性的詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞。

英語(yǔ)中有些表示靈性的詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞，如spasm，tinge，thrill，twinge等。

spasm痙攣，抽搐；a spasm of(劇痛或不愉快情感的)陣發(fā)，迸發(fā)。

例20 Kemp felt a spasm of fear.

肯普突然感到一陣恐懼。

tinge微量，少許；a tinge of一絲，幾分(顏色、感情或性質(zhì))。

例21 There was a tinge of sadness in her voice.

她的聲音中帶有一絲悲傷。

thrill (突然而強(qiáng)烈的)激動(dòng)，狂喜，恐懼。

例22 With a thrill of horror the children watched the monster movie.

在恐懼的顫抖下，孩子們觀賞著怪獸電影。

twinge (一陣)劇痛，刺痛 a twinge of (通常指不快的)一陣強(qiáng)烈情感。

例23 For a moment, Arnold felt a twinge of sympathy for Mr Wilson.

有一瞬間，阿諾德對(duì)威爾遜先生心生同情。

6. 時(shí)間性詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾名詞。

時(shí)間性詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞來(lái)修飾名詞如：fit表示感情一陣，突然發(fā)作。

例24 Hearing my mother’s words, I felt I was in a fit of remorse.

聽(tīng)了母親的話(huà)我感到一陣陣悔恨。

7. 容量型詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞，如：bellyful.

例25 She has a bellyful of repressed grievances.

她慪了一肚子氣。

8. 度量衡量詞用作量詞修飾名詞。

度量衡詞語(yǔ)可以用作量詞ounce，pound等。

ounce盎司；an ounce of少量， 一點(diǎn)兒。

例26 There is not an ounce of sympathy.

沒(méi)有一點(diǎn)同情心。

二 小結(jié)

英語(yǔ)中量詞對(duì)情感名詞分類(lèi)使用了更多的視角，包括形狀、液體、氣體的動(dòng)態(tài)性、自然現(xiàn)象等，這些現(xiàn)象說(shuō)明英語(yǔ)中的情感名詞具有隱喻性。
