葉桔泉1896.08.28～1989.07.07

中醫(yī)中藥學(xué)家。浙江吳興人。1924年在吳興縣拜三代名醫(yī)張克明為師學(xué)中醫(yī)，學(xué)到了許多中醫(yī)經(jīng)典著作及臨床經(jīng)驗。4年后在上海惲鐵橋函授中醫(yī)學(xué)校就讀。江蘇中醫(yī)研究所研究員、所長，中國醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)院江蘇分院副院長。長期從事中醫(yī)臨床和中藥研究工作。系統(tǒng)研究祖國中醫(yī)中藥學(xué)，主張中西醫(yī)結(jié)合，運用現(xiàn)代科學(xué)整理祖國醫(yī)藥文獻(xiàn)；并在江蘇昆山和蘇州吳縣等地承擔(dān)血吸蟲病的防治工作，為繼承和發(fā)展祖國的中醫(yī)中藥學(xué)作出了貢獻(xiàn)。

1955年被選聘為中國科學(xué)院院士（學(xué)部委員）。

Specialist in traditional Chinese medicine. Born in Wuxing,Jiangsu Province. In 1924, he became a student of Zhang Keming who was the third generation descendant of famous doctor of the traditional Chinese medicine, and learnt a great deal of classical traditional Chinese medical leterature and clinical experience. Studied at Shanghai Yuntieqiao Correspondence School 4 years later. Professor and director, Jiangsu Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and vice president, Jiangsu Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Ye worked in the field of traditional medical clinic and Chinese medicinal research for a long time and studied traditional Chinese medicine systematically. He advocated the combination of traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine and sorted out the references of Chinese medicine and pharmacology by means of modern science.He took part in the prevention and cure of schistosomiasis and contributed to the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese medicine.

He became Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1955.
