摘 要:多媒體具有共享性好、表現(xiàn)力豐富、信息容量大、交互性能強等特點。本文通過多媒體課件在英語閱讀課的教學設計與實踐,展示了多媒體輔助教學在激發(fā)學生學習興趣,提高學生閱讀技能等方面的作用。

Abstract: Multimedia has the characteristics of good sharing generality , abundant expression, much information and strong mutual function. This paper shows the importance of utilizing Multimedia courseware –aided extensive reading course in stimulateing the students' interests and improvement of their reading skill.

《大學英語教學大綱》明確規(guī)定:“培養(yǎng)學生具有較強的閱讀能力和一定的聽、說、寫、譯能力,使他們能用英語交流信息?!?/p>
閱讀不僅是語言輸入的主要來源,也是聽、說、寫、譯其他技能發(fā)展的基礎和源頭,閱讀能力是大部分非英語專業(yè)學生今后使用英語的主要技能,閱讀能力的培養(yǎng)應該放在首位。多媒體教學具有表現(xiàn)力豐富,信息容量大,交互性能好等特點,能將抽象的概念形象化、直觀化;運用現(xiàn)代教育思想,根據(jù)不同的教學目標以及各種媒體的特性功能,從培養(yǎng)人才的目標出發(fā),根據(jù)教學實際需要,設計英語閱讀課的教學,能提高閱讀教學效率,有效提高學生的學習質量,使學生真正參與到學習和探究活動中來,促進課堂教學的交流、探索、發(fā)現(xiàn)和創(chuàng)新。

現(xiàn)代教學媒體設計閱讀教學,能簡化教學過程,提高課堂傳遞教學信息的質量,有利于教師的指導作用和學習主體作用的發(fā)揮。以新視野大學英語(第二版)讀寫教程1 Unit5 SectionA為例。課文的題目是:The Battle Against AIDS(與艾滋病抗爭)。艾滋病是我國重點控制的重大疾病,也是全球關注的重要公共衛(wèi)生和社會熱點問題。在引導學生進行閱讀時,首先,運用幻燈把相關的專業(yè)名詞打出。

AIDS, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, is a disease which destroys the natural method the body uses to protect against other diseases. It is a disease caused by the HIV (human immunodeficiency virus), but AIDS is different from HIV in that the former usually causes death while HIV may lead to AIDS. HIV is spread in three ways: (1) contact with infected blood; (2) sex; (3) mother-to-child. AIDS usually develops in four stages: (1) In the first stage, there is only infection by HIV and antibody (抗體) production. (2) In the second stage, the lymph nodes (淋巴結) enlarge (腫大). (3) In the third stage, an infected person may begin to have such signs (癥狀) as tiredness, fever, and night sweats. (4) In the last stage, AIDS is diagnosed when a person develops certain uncommon, life-threatening illnesses, for example Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia(卡氏肺囊蟲肺炎 ).
HIV is the human immunodeficiency virus. This is the virus that spreads through contact with infected blood, infected sexual partners or within the womb of an infected pregnant mother. After infecting a person, HIV can remain hidden in the body for long and different periods of time until it becomes active and develops into AIDS for which no known cure exists. The virus spreads very fast once contact has been made with an infected source.

HIVand AIDS is one of the biggest social, economic and health challeges in the world. It is a global emergency claiming over 8,000 lives every day. In fact 5 people die of AIDS every minute. Since AIDS was diagnosed in the United States in the 1970s, AIDS has killed more than 204,000Americanshalfof that number in the past few years alone. Another 185,000of the one millioninfected with the HIV virus are expected to die within the next year.
HIV is spread in four ways:
1.the most common way is the unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected partner;
2.sharing needles or other contaminated injection or skin-piercing equipment;
3.blood and blood products through, for example, infected transfusion an organ or tissue transplantas;
4.transmission from infected mother to child in the womb or at birth and breastfeeding.
在播放課文錄音之前投影comprehension questions 讓學生帶者問題進行去進行課文的閱讀。

反復兩遍播放課文錄音,學生對課文的大意基本掌握;然后播放事先制作的幻燈片,如:World AIDS Day; The theme for World AIDS Day; Red Ribbon等, 讓學生加深對課文的理解,開拓視野。在此基礎上讓學生總結課文中心,進行熱點問題的討論,充分調動學生學習主體的積極性,并投影課文的寫作技巧、結構分析、段落大意等,最后,利用語言學習系統(tǒng)對整篇課文作小結并利用投影檢查學生對課文的掌握程度。由此進行課文閱讀教學, 學生印象更深刻,反映更強烈,充分調動了學生的學習積極性。

多媒體輔助閱讀教學的設計與應用為英語閱讀教學提供了優(yōu)越的客觀環(huán)境和條件,現(xiàn)代化的多媒體環(huán)境下新的教學模式,突破了傳統(tǒng)教學模式的不足,大大提高了教學效率,最大限度地提高了閱讀教學的質量。
