Last Saturday afternoon, our class held a discussion on the development ofprivate cars. Opinions divide.
Some of us think there are many advantages in owning a car. It provides muchcomfort and conventence. The owner is no longer forced to depend on public trans-port, and thus he won't suffer from waiting or crowdedness. With a ear he can de-cide on where and when to travel freely. However, others strongly object to devel-oping private cars. They argue that with more cars running in the street, large vol-runes of poisonous gas will be given off, polluting the air and harming people'shealth. Meanwhile, too many cars will also contribute to traffic jam.
Whether private cars should be developed is a question hard to answer, yetwe have to admit people ' s desire for comfort and independence won' t be ended.
