Can the rapid growth of Chinas economy be sustained? How is it to be sustained? This has become a hot topic in recent years arousing worldwide attention. To understand the reason for this much talked about topic, we have to look at the past 30 years of Chinas development, and how it has become an important force in the world economy. Whether or not Chinas economic development can be sustained, and how to sustain it, is not only a question of great significance for Chinas own future, but also a question that will have considerable impact on world economic and political development.
