speak ill of somebody說某人壞話

ill當(dāng)形容詞時表示“生病的”，當(dāng)副詞時，則表示“不利地”：Kelly never speaks ill of anyone even if she doesnt like him or her.(就算不喜歡別人,凱莉也不會說他們壞話。）

defend oneself某人為自己辨別

defend表示“防御；保衛(wèi)”如：Sinceyou areasoldier,it is your duty to defend the country．(你是軍人，保衛(wèi)國家是你的職責(zé)。)defend若接反身代名詞(oneself),則指某人為自己“辯解／辯護(hù)”。Shedefendedherself in court and claimed that she was innocent．（她在庭上為自己辯護(hù)，聲稱自己清白。）

make ones blood run cold令人毛骨悚然

make ones blood run cold是“令人毛骨悚然／背脊發(fā)涼”之意，如：Jim:That haunted house really made my blood run cold．Aaron：Come on!It Was fake.（吉姆：那間鬼屋真的把我嚇出一身冷汗。)(亞倫：拜托!那都是假的啦。）

be stabbed in the back被人中傷

be stabbed in the back翻成白話就是“被人從背面捅了一刀”，引申為“被人中傷／背叛”之意。也常以主動用法stab sb in the back表達(dá),一般譯成“暗箭傷人”。
