Which tourist site in Chongqing is the mostwell-known to a tourist？ Which building is the mostromantic with ancient architecture？ Which buildingis like a palace shining beautifully at night？ It mustbe Hongyadong. Yes， it is Hongyadong， located in thedowntown（ 市中心的） Chongqing.

Visitors are astonished（ 驚訝的） by its very special construction（ 建筑） featurewith a history of about 2300 years. In the past， it was one of the ancient gates ofthis city. It was built along the mountain with one side of the house resting on rockswhile the other three sides supported by wooden or bamboo poles（ 柱子）.

Hongyadong is not world-known until 2018 when the architecturecoincidentally went viral（ 走紅） on TikTok because it looks like the building in?the animation Spirited Away（《千與千尋》）. When nightfalls， all the lights are turned on and it is like a shining fairyalways overlooking the Jialing River.

What you are visiting is a newly built onewith 11 floors. In 2003， a total of 385 millionyuan was invested in the reconstruction（ 改造） of the Hongyadong area. It covers anarea of 46000 square meters. It has becomea AAAA tourist attraction， which combinesfunctions of sightseeing， tourism， andleisure（ 休閑）. Inside the architecture，there are a variety of shops， restaurants，tea houses， and even a hotel， allowingvisitors to immerse（ 沉浸） themselvesin the local culture and delicious food.During holidays， there are many activitieshere， such as food shows and folk weddingceremony shows（ 民俗婚禮展）， attractingmany visitors from home and abroad.On November 18， 2020， Hongyadong was includedin the Top Ten New Cultural Tourism Landmarks in Chengdu and Chongqing. InDecember 2021， it was included in the Second Batch of Historical GeographicalNames Protection List of Chongqing.
