說說“聰明”的多種英文表達法

一說到夸人“聰明”，許多同學便脫口而出\"You are very clever”。事實上，在英語中，除了 clever外，還有其他詞也蘊含“聰明”之意。對此，筆者歸納了“聰明”的多種英語表達，幫助大家開闊視野。

一、Wise

Wise，意為“聰明的、英明的、博學的的、充滿智慧的”，常見的俚語是“as wise as anowl”，多用來形容人很睿智，非常聰明。如：

My mother is as wise as an owl.Sways gives me some special good advice.

我的母親非常聰明。她總是給我提出一些特別好的建議。

He is a very brave and wise leader.

他是一位非常勇敢而英明的領袖。

Clearly， it was a very wise decision.

顯然，這是一個明智的決定。

二、Smart

Smart，意為“聰穎的，機靈的，精明的”。如：

Many scientists believe that the dolphin is a very smart animal．

許多科學家認為海豚是一種非常聰明的動物。

He looks much smarter than his sister

他看起來比他姐姐機靈得多。

Bill is a smart businessman.

比爾是一個精明的商人。

三、Bright

Bright，意為“聰明的，活潑的、機靈的”，常用習慣表達有：as bright as a button，多用來形容小孩或年輕人聰明伶俐。如：

Many parents wish their children wouldgrow up healthy and bright.

許多父母都希望他們的孩子健康成長，聰明伶俐。

My son is five years old and as bright as abutton．

四、Brainy

Brainy，意為“聰明的，有頭腦的，有智慧的”。如：

五、shrewd

六、Quick-witted

Quick-witted，意為“敏捷的，機敏的，機智的，聰明的”。如：

He used to be a quick-witted negotiator.

The public speaker gave the reporter aquick-witted response.

Susan is a quick- witted pupil who is al-ways the first to answer the teacher's questions.

七、Intelligent

Intelligent，意為“聰明的，聰慧的，有才智的，悟性強的”。例如：

珍妮是一個聰慧且有主見的女孩。
