Thirty million people come to the UK every year. So what do they visit?

London is usually the first destination. The London Eye is a giant wheel - go to the top and you can see the Houses of Parliament and its famous clock - Big Ben. You can also see St Paul's Cathedral and go by boat to the Tower of London.

The Natural History Museum is famous for its skeletons of dinosaurs and model of a blue whale. There is a statue of the famous natural scientist Charles Darwin in the main hall.

Outside London the most popular attraction is Warwick Castle. It is nearly a thousand years old and still has dungeons. In York, the Minster and medieval streets make it a popular destination. You can visit the Jorvik museum and learn about the Viking invaders from Scandinavia.

Another city on the tourist route is Edinburgh. Here, the Museum of Scotland contains some interesting exhibits including the remains of Dolly the Sheep, the world's first clone. Thousands of people come here in August for the International Festival. To get a good view of the city, people climb an extinct volcano called Arthur's Seat.
