America's Route 66， also known as “America's main street”.

Created in 1926， Route 66 1 LA and Chicago. That means that this single road is 2 miles long—2448 miles（about 3939km） long to be exact—and was how many people drove across the US before 1）interstate highways were made. During that time， America became a country of motorists and therefore many small towns on Route 66 developed.
