After all the 109 medal events had been decided， the closing ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games was held on the night of February 20th at the National Stadium in Beijing. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the closing ceremony. International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach declared the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games closed in his speech at the ceremony.

The 2022 Winter Olympics stands out as it both provided a stage for the world's top winter sports athletes and also highlighted China's efforts to host a safe and sustainable global- scale event.

2022年冬奧會(huì)引人注目，因?yàn)樗葹槭澜珥敿舛瑠W會(huì)運(yùn)動(dòng)員提供了一個(gè)舞臺(tái)，又突顯了中國(guó)為舉辦一場(chǎng)安全、可持續(xù)的全球盛會(huì)所做的努力。

Thomas Bach， lauded the Beijing Winter Olympics as "truly exceptional" when addressing at the closing ceremony Sunday night.

托馬斯·巴赫周日晚上在閉幕式上致辭時(shí)稱(chēng)贊北京冬奧會(huì)“真正無(wú)與倫比”。

"The Olympic spirit could only shine so brightly，becausethe Chinese people set the stage in such an excellent way —and ina safe way，"said Bach.

"The Olympic Villages were outstanding. The venues —magnificent. The organization was extraordinary...This unforgettable experience was only possible because of our gracious hosts， the Chinese people，"he added.

他補(bǔ)充道：“本屆冬奧會(huì)奧運(yùn)村獨(dú)具匠心，場(chǎng)館令人嘆為觀止，組織工作非凡卓越我們之所以能夠有如此難忘的經(jīng)歷，都要?dú)w功于我們熱情好客的東道主——全體中國(guó)人民?！?/p>

"Let the Olympic spirit of peace， mutual respect， and understanding shine throughout the Games and beyond，" said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in a video message to the opening of the Games on February 4th.

2月4日，聯(lián)合國(guó)秘書(shū)長(zhǎng)安東尼奧·古特雷斯在奧運(yùn)會(huì)開(kāi)幕式的視頻致辭中說(shuō)：“讓我們?cè)谡麄€(gè)冬奧會(huì)、冬殘奧會(huì)以及之后不斷發(fā)揚(yáng)光大公平競(jìng)爭(zhēng)、團(tuán)結(jié)友愛(ài)的奧林匹克精神！"

And the smooth running of the Olympics has met what the organizers promised — that is， to warm up the world through greatness in winter sports and offer up tear-jerking and heart- filled moments.

Inspiring stories of breakthroughs also came at the National Speed Skating Oval， where Sweden's Nils van der Poel lowered his own previous world record in 10，000m and home favorite Gao Tingyu became the first-ever Chinese male Olympic gold medalist in speed skating.

In the Winter Games， China recorded its best-ever Winter Olympic haul of 15 medals.

But medals are not all that matters at the Olympic Games.

The Games could also very much contribute to expanding the global knowledge and better understanding of China's philosophy and ideas， said Muhammad Asif Noor， secretary?general of the Pakistan Shanghai Cooperation Organization Friendship Forum.

The Gaines' motto of ''Together for a Shared Future55 corresponds to China's aspiration of building a community with a shared future for mankind， he added.

他補(bǔ)充說(shuō)，本屆奧運(yùn)會(huì)的口號(hào)是“一起向未來(lái)"，這與中國(guó)推動(dòng)構(gòu)建人類(lèi)命運(yùn)共同體的理念相符。
