The Quiet Painter

Pierre Lemonde lives in a small village in southern France. He spends most of his time painting country subjects， like farmers， animals， and trees. His favorite place to paint is on a cliff overlooking a wide river. Sometimes boats go by， carrying all sorts of interesting things. He paints them， too.

Pierre wasnt always a painter. He once lived in a big city， selling things like televisions and radios. But 50 years in the city was enough for him. He prefers life in the countryside and the peaceful feeling it brings him.
