大英博物館的漫畫展

Manga—the Japanese art of comic books—has greatly risen in popularity worldwide in the past few decades. The art form can trace1 its roots back nearly 1，000 years but it is only in recent times that it has taken off globally. Manga is now as synonymous2 with Japan as sushi， geisha and Mt Fuji. An exhibition of manga works was the most popular show at the British Museum in 2019. The manga exhibition was the largest display of manga material ever held outside Japan. Around 1，920 people paid to see it every day， according to the museum.

Hartwig Fischer， director of the British Museum， said， “Manga is the modern graphic3 art of storytelling first perfected in Japan and is now loved all over the world. Building on Japans centuries-old tradition， the best mangas have the visual power to excite us and draw us into their world， with inventive4 storylines that engage5 our emotions.”

在過去的幾十年里，日本漫畫藝術(shù)在世界范圍內(nèi)大受歡迎。這種藝術(shù)形式可以追溯到近1000年前，但直到近代才在全球范圍內(nèi)興起。漫畫現(xiàn)在和壽司、藝妓、富士山一樣是日本的代名詞。有一場(chǎng)漫畫作品展是大英博物館2019年最受歡迎的展覽。該漫畫展是在日本以外的地方舉辦的最大的漫展。據(jù)博物館稱，每天約有1920人付費(fèi)參觀。
