One Summer Night

一個(gè)夏天的夜晚

A father with his son went on a camping trip. They set up their tent in the afternoon. At night， they went to asleep. Some hours later， the father woke1 his son and asked， “Look up to the sky and tell me what you see？”

Son： I see the stars， a ring around the moon， and some clouds.

Father： And what do those tell you？

Son： They tell me it will be cloudy or rainy tomorrow. Why do you ask me these， Dad？

The father slapped2 the son hard and said， “Idiot3. Someone has stolen4 our tent. Do you know？”

一位父親帶著兒子去露營(yíng)。在下午，他們搭起了帳篷。在夜晚，他們睡著了。幾個(gè)小時(shí)后，父親叫醒了兒子，問(wèn)道：“抬頭看看天空，告訴我你看到了什么？”

兒子：我看到了星星，月亮周圍的光環(huán)，還有云朵。

父親：那說(shuō)明了什么？

Teacher and Pupil

Teacher： Your grades are terrible. I shall send for your father！

Doctors daughter： If I were you， Teacher， I wouldnt. My daddy always charges5 20 dollars for each visit！

Catching the Train

趕火車

A farmer is working on the farm. A man comes and asks， “Excuse me， sir. Would you mind if I get across your field instead of10 going around it？ You see， I have to catch the train at 4：23.”

The farmer says， “Sure， go right ahead. And if my bull sees you， youll even catch the train at 4：11.”
