      Authenticity in painting has two meanings. One is the true representation of objective objects in traditional realistic language. We know that such reality is actually an illusion simulated by skills. The other is the truth of the subject's emotion and feeling. For art creators, the works must embody the true feelings of the creators, and emotion is the inner life of the works. As the main body in the stage of artistic creation, only on the basis of extensive observation and profound experience of social life, the artist can understand and comprehend its connotation, refine and concentrate, and then create the reality of art.

      As photography becomes more and more popular, the intention of the creators to use painting to express the objective reality becomes weaker and weaker. And the aesthetic appreciation of the audience is also improving, what is the painting, painting like or not as the only way to see no longer. More and more creators focus on the expression of their own emotions, from the reproduction to the performance, from the description of the objective reality to the performance of the subject's self-spirit. In traditional realistic painting, most subjects focus on how to reproduce natural objects in a real way, and show relatively weak expression of their own feelings. In such works, the way to convey the feelings of the subject is usually "expressing emotions through objects"or "expressing aspirations through objects", that is, reflecting the thoughts and feelings of the subject with the help of the realistic meaning of the object. On the contrary, the exaggerated, distorted or even distorted shapes,the subjective use of colors, or the free and quiet brushwork in the works that highlight expressive language, do not conform to the visual perception, but accurately and powerfully show the truth of the subject's emotions.

      If the realistic language in painting is a passive representation of the objective reality, the "image" in the picture is influenced by the "image" in reality. Then expressive language is to select and change the "image" in the objective reality, so as to make it fit the subject's own emotional experience. In the process of changing the way of the creation, the subject of observation and thinking tends to be subjective, and the main body of different choice of "like" and change is different, the same subject for the same change "like" in different stages of selection will be different, which makes the painting from performance to the real subject of their own emotions.
