Everyone loves to play on the beach. What would you like to do？ These ideas will help you have fun at the beach.

Seashells（貝殼） come in many colors and shapes（形狀）. They come from different animals，such as sea snails（海螺），oysters（牡蠣） and clams（蛤蜊）. They live in the ocean（海洋）. When they die，the waves（海浪） will wash their shells up on the beach.

If you find a sea snail shell（海螺殼），you can put it next to your ear. Then you can hear the sea rumble（隆隆作響）. We often find the shells of clams in the sand，too.

A big sandcastle is difficult to build. Let’s start from a simple（簡(jiǎn)單的） one. You just need a castle-shaped mold（城堡形狀的模具） and a shovel（鏟子）. You can also decorate（裝飾） your castle with seashells. It looks unusual（不尋常的）.

The sun is hot. It will burn（灼傷） our skin. The light（光線） is too bright. It’s bad for our eyes. So we should learn to protect（保護(hù)） ourselves in the sun.

When you are collecting（收集） shells，you may find the hermit rabs（寄居蟹）. They live on the beach. They dig（挖） into the sand to get their food. When they outgrow（長(zhǎng)出） their shells，they look for a new empty snail shell and take over（占領(lǐng)） it.

Small animals live in their shells. Their shells grow throughout（自始至終） their life. It grows very slowly. It can be a long time. Their shells can tell their age. Experts（專(zhuān)家們） from a British university found a 400-year-old clam.
