One day a little boy decided to dig a hole behind his house after watching a science program.As he was working，a couple of older boys stopped by to watch.“What are you doing?”asked one of the older boys.“I want to dig a deep hole all the way through the earth!”the boy answered excitedly.The older boys began to laugh at him，telling him that it was impossible to do it.After a while，they left without saying any more words.

The little boy kept on digging and digging.Suddenly，he found some small colorful stones.He picked them up and put them into a glass box.Then he went on digging.The box was full soon.Then he talked to himself quietly and proudly，“Maybe I can't finish digging all the way through the earth，but look at what I have found in the process of digging!”

Not all dreams will come true.Maybe your job will not end up with a success.But maybe you can proudly say，“Yes，but look at what I've found along the way!There are so many wonderful things that have come into my life because I've tried to do something！”So that's why there is a famous saying that the process is more important than the results.

◆典句賞析

1.The older boys began to laugh at him，telling him that it was impossible to do it.這幾個(gè)大點(diǎn)的男孩開始嘲笑他，告訴他那是不可能做到的。

telling him that it was impossible to do it屬伴隨狀語。伴隨狀語所表達(dá)的動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)是伴隨著句子謂語動(dòng)詞的動(dòng)作而發(fā)生或存在。it was impossible to do it屬于“It is+adj.+不定式”句型，意為“做某事是……的”。在這種句型中，常用的形容詞有很多，如important、impossible、necessary、easy、difficult、polite等。

2.Not all dreams will come true.并不是所有的夢想都會(huì)實(shí)現(xiàn)。

本句屬“部分否定”句型。當(dāng)not與all、both、every加名詞（every country、every day...）及其合成詞（everybody、everyone、everything、everywhere）等連用時(shí)，表達(dá)的都是“部分否定”概念。

3.There are so many wonderful things that have come into my life because I've tried to do something!由于我已經(jīng)盡力去做了，所以有如此多的美妙事物走進(jìn)了我的生活！

本句中雖含有so...that...，但它并不是表示“如此……以至……”。本句屬there be句型，things是先行詞，that是關(guān)系代詞，引導(dǎo)的從句that have come into my life屬定語從句，作things的定語。
