大都會(Metropol)項(xiàng)目是對米蘭一座著名的地標(biāo)建筑——可追溯到20世紀(jì)40年代的大都會影院進(jìn)行的翻新。影院坐落于市中心的維亞爾皮亞韋(viale Piave)繁華地段,瑪麗亞·卡拉斯(Maria Callas)曾在這里進(jìn)行歌劇《諾瑪》的錄制。項(xiàng)目對原建筑進(jìn)行了全面改造,并擴(kuò)建1,000平方米左右,現(xiàn)總占地面積約為3,500平方米??梢杂糜谂e辦各類活動和接待賓客等。設(shè)計(jì)采用了建筑師和公司共同制定的常見主題:線性結(jié)構(gòu)為主,采用地中海式材料,如浮石和暗乳白玻璃等,表面光鮮亮麗,燈光效果尤佳,完全符合杜嘉班納(Dolce&Gabbana)的風(fēng)格。
雙層前廳,優(yōu)雅大氣,頂部裝有黑色水晶玻璃大吊燈,一直通向主廳。主廳內(nèi),通過精妙的光影設(shè)計(jì),在黑色背景墻上呈現(xiàn)出璀璨的影像。給人一種超脫現(xiàn)實(shí)的虛幻感。同時(shí),保留了影院原有的高拱門,增加氣勢。
整個(gè)建筑規(guī)模龐大,功能多樣,旨在滿足客戶的不同需求,同時(shí)可以舉辦各類活動。地下部分設(shè)有輔助地上部分的協(xié)同設(shè)施,一樓和二樓是接待廳和私人場所。原建筑立面的基礎(chǔ)結(jié)構(gòu)進(jìn)行了整體翻新,以垂直鋼板盤繞,形成光學(xué)效果。具體而言,在大都會頂部原有的大型標(biāo)志(建于20世紀(jì)80年代)綽約燈光的映襯下,建筑立面在不同視角和不同燈光下,會產(chǎn)生不同的視覺效果。建筑閃亮的裙樓設(shè)計(jì)為黑色,通往大樓內(nèi)部。沿維亞爾皮亞韋,在旁邊新建了辦公樓,這也是一大亮點(diǎn)。在建筑規(guī)模和材質(zhì)選擇上,兩者形成了視覺上的連貫性。新建的辦公協(xié)同樓,也是由20世紀(jì)晚期建筑改造而成。采用與大都會相同的鋼板制成遮陽百葉窗,造型獨(dú)特,視覺沖擊力強(qiáng)。遮陽結(jié)構(gòu)以凹陷式方形網(wǎng)狀排布,形成光束感,外形輪廓精確清晰,如同老裁縫精心裁剪的服裝一樣優(yōu)雅。三個(gè)平行建筑結(jié)構(gòu)在狹長的地塊上圍城一個(gè)大型的中心庭院。其中沿街的一棟,設(shè)計(jì)為透明光亮風(fēng)格,與戈?duì)柖嗄幔╲ia Goldoni)類似。而另外兩棟較高建筑則略顯樸素,以方形板面(玻璃纖維鋼筋混凝土)為主題,在這里可以俯瞰中心庭院。建筑室內(nèi)最突出的特點(diǎn)是空間布局的簡潔性。以原有結(jié)構(gòu)為重心,選擇外觀優(yōu)美材料,主要包括地中海式的玄武巖,形成具有視覺沖擊力的時(shí)尚感。
The Metropol project was carried out on one of Milan’s prestigious historical icons, the Metropol Cinema in viale Piave dating back to the 1940s, which once played host to Maria Callas when she recorded the record version of Bellini’s Norma. The project involved the complete restructuring of the building and addition of an approximately 1000 m2 extension to increase its overall area to approximately 3500 m2,so that it could accommodate an events hall and reception spaces. The familiar leitmotifs the architects and company have jointly developed were used here: linear forms, Mediterranean-style materials like pumice stone and black opaline glass, shiny surfaces and striking lighting effects, which allfit in perfectly with Dolce&Gabbana’s style.
The elegant double heigh lobby lit up by a large chandelier made of black Murano glass leads through to the main hall, where clever light and shadow effects projected onto the shiny, black walls take visitors off into an atmosphere beyond the bounds of reality, further enhanced by the gentle presence of high arches that were part of the oldfilm theatre.
The building, which is set out and functions like an extremely flexible gigantic machine designed to serve the client’s needs and for hosting miscellaneous events. The basement holds the rooms used for coordinated operations serving the main upper hall, while thefirst and secondfioors host the reception spaces and private premises. The fa?ade has been radically changed to enhance the original underlying architecture through a coating of vertical steel plates, which twist around to create an optical effect. This means the elevation, with the large luminous Metropol sign from the 1980s looming above it, changes according to different viewpoints and variations in light. The shiny black base leading inside the Metropol also crop up in the design of the new neighbouring offices in viale Piave, ensuring visual continuity between the two constructions due to similarities in size and materials. The elevation of the new office and coordination block, also resulting from the modernising of a late 20th-century building, has been given a very distinctive and powerful look by the sunscreen shutters made of the same steel covering the Metropol. Set out in a displaced square pattern, the sunscreens create shafts of light and very precise, clear-cut forms making the fa?ade look like an elegant garment stitched by a skilled tailor. The building takes the form of three parallel constructionsfitting in with the long and narrow building lot to create a large internal courtyard. The stylistic language used on the road front, whose transparency and lightness are similar to those found in via Goldoni, contrasts the more austere design of the elevations overlooking the courtyard, where the theme of squares is taken up again only this time through GRC(glassfibre reinforced concrete) panels. The most distinctive features of the interiors are the simplicity of the spatial layout, the decision to focus on the old architecture and the choice of elegant materials with the Mediterranean look of basalt stone that turns into a powerful leitmotif for the fashion house’s image.
