Are you short-sighted? As we all know, it's bad for our eyes to use mobile phones and watch TV too much.It is said thateyesight alsohas something to do withthe time to get an education. Is it true?
The more years you spend in full-time education, the more shortsighted you are likely to be,according toa large UK study.
The study iscarried outby Cardiff and Bristol University scientists. They analysed (分析) information on the genetics (遺傳學(xué)), eyesight and educational background of 68,000 people in the UK. They wrote a report and sent it to a medical magazine in England.
The report tells that a person whospent 17 years oneducation is more short-sighted (近視) than someone who left schoolat the age of16 after spending 12 years on education. It's abouton averagemore than 100 degrees. The degrees mean the difference between having perfect eyesight and needing glasses to drive safely.
“In the world, the number ofshort-sighted people is more and more. And bad eyesight may cause other illness. The findings of this study are important and meaningful for educational practice.”said the scientist Jez from Cardiff University.
They found that the number of years at school and college strongly influenced eyesight, but there was no effect in the opposite direction. If someone is short-sighted, that will not lead him to remain in education for longer.
Don't worry! In fact, the reason is that students have toolittle time tostay in the bright natural light. And the advice from the scientists is for children to spend more of the day outdoors.

3.They found that the number of years at school and college strongly influenced eyesight, but there was no effect in the opposite direction.
