星期天Sunday

后來(lái)，老爸把他上班用的東西從房間里搬走了，將原來(lái)辦公的房間變成了育嬰室。我睡上了羅德里克的兒童床，而他則有了張新床。Eventually,Dad moved his work stuff out of the room he wasusing asan office and made it into a nursery.I got Rodrick’s old crib and he got a new bed.

那時(shí)候，我?guī)缀跛械臇|西都是羅德里克傳下來(lái)的二手貨。Almost EVERYTHING I had back in those days was a hand-me-down from Rodrick.

等它們到我手里的時(shí)候，基本上不是缺胳膊少腿，就是沾滿(mǎn)了口水。By the time something came to me,it was either worn-out or covered in slobber.

連我的奶嘴都是羅德里克用過(guò)的。我估計(jì)那時(shí)候他還沒(méi)戒掉這個(gè)癮，這大概就是為什么他一直不怎么喜歡我的原因。Even my PACIFIER was a hand-me-down from Rodrick.I don’t think he was ready to give it up,though,which might explain why he’s never really liked me.

很長(zhǎng)一段時(shí)間都是我們四個(gè)人一起生活，直到有一天老媽跟我說(shuō)她要再生一個(gè)。幸虧她提前跟我打了招呼，這樣我就可以早做準(zhǔn)備了。It was just the four of us for a long time,and then one day Mom told me she was gonna have another baby.I was glad she gave me the heads-up so I could be ready.

弟弟曼尼出生后，大家都說(shuō)他長(zhǎng)得可愛(ài)。不過(guò)大家從不告訴你，嬰兒出生后，臍帶結(jié)扎的地方會(huì)有個(gè)黑色的痂。When my little brother,Manny,came along,everybody thought he was so cute.But what they don’t tell you about babies is that after they’re born,they have this black stub on their belly button where the umbilical cord was tied off.

最終，這個(gè)痂會(huì)干癟脫落，然后寶寶才會(huì)有個(gè)正常的肚臍眼。問(wèn)題是，沒(méi)人見(jiàn)過(guò)曼尼掉下來(lái)的痂。所以直到今天我都疑神疑鬼，唯恐那個(gè)痂會(huì)在什么地方突然出現(xiàn)。Eventually,the stub dries up and falls off,and the baby has a regular-looking belly button.The thing is,nobody ever FOUND Manny’s stub.And to this day I’m still paranoid it’s gonna show up somewhere.
