如:very good/very quickly/very few people
如:Thank you very much.(非常感謝。)
The coat is too big for him.(這件衣服對(duì)他來說太大了。)
◆ A neighbor complained the kids were making too much noise.(有位鄰居抱怨孩子們太吵了。)
◆ I can’t thank him too much.=I can’t thank him enough.
He gave me too much.
如:much too heavy/much too slowly
與形容詞、副詞連用相當(dāng)于much,常和比較級(jí)一起用;與動(dòng)詞連用相當(dāng)于a great
amount。如:
◆ I’m feeling a lot better today.(我今天感覺好多了。)
◆ Thanks a lot for your help.(非常感謝你的幫助。)
◆ I care a lot about you.(我非常在乎你。)
修飾無比較級(jí)形容詞,如:quite right/quite wrong/quite perfect/quite sure
修飾動(dòng)詞,如:quite catch/quite know/quite follow/quite understand
修飾介詞短語(yǔ),如:quite by accident/quite out of mind
如:◆ He is quite a tall man.(他的個(gè)子相當(dāng)高。)◆ It’s quite an expensive restaurant.(它是
◆ It is rather cold today.(今天非常冷。)
◆ She is rather better today.(今天她好多了。)
◆ This is a rather moving story.=This is rather a moving story.(這是一個(gè)十分感人的故事。)
如:It is fairly warm.
一般形容詞最高級(jí)前面要用the,只有most前可用a,a most…
Dalian is a most beautiful city.(大連是座十分美麗的城市。)
◆ extremely difficult/extremely important
◆ It is extremely important.
◆ I need your help badly as the deadline is around the corner.(因?yàn)樽詈笃谙蘅斓搅?,我急需你的幫助。?/p>
◆ Now I terribly need your help.(現(xiàn)在我急需你的幫忙。)
◆ He is badly in need of your praise.(他急需你的表?yè)P(yáng)。)
Things are looking pretty good.(形勢(shì)看來很不錯(cuò)。)
It is raining heavily now.
如:Thank you so much.(十分感謝你。)
固定結(jié)構(gòu)so…that 即“如此(so有“非常”的意思)……
如:Online shopping is so convenient that it has made our life more colorful.(網(wǎng)上購(gòu)物非常方便,它讓我們的生活變得更加多姿多彩。)
I’ve got an awful headache.(我頭疼得要命。)
