A discussion about how to understand the problems of English reading comprehension in high schools

English reading comprehension in English share is bigger， the score is high， but because of English reading comprehension has certain difficulty， covering the bigger English vocabulary， involving so many knowledge points， the paper length is longer， the students English comprehensive quality request is higher， so it is not easy for students to have high scores， and it also makes students feel difficult to improve English reading comprehension. Based on this， this paper mainly discusses how high school students can improve their English reading comprehension.

1. Characteristics of high school English reading comprehension

1.1 The topic quantity is big

Topic， relative to other English reading comprehension questions the proportion is larger， accounts for about 40% of the total topic quantity examination paper， also the top score of topic， one of the English test paper， light reading comprehension there four papers， each reading set five topics， and reading comprehension of the topic quantity is larger， a total of 20 questions， on our ability to get effective information through reading， the demand is higher.

1.2 Reading materials are difficult

Four reading comprehension in English exam is difficult， and presented an increasing trend， which is more in the end， the more difficult it is to understand the emotions in solving problems with us also has a certain relationship， and reading comprehension of most source is closely related to the development of The Times， close to life， closer to the hot issues of The Times， so there will be a lot of unfamiliar vocabulary， sentence structure， tend to be complicated， implicit and misleading information， but not very well to deal with this information， nature will not be able to well understand the meaning of these article specific expression， thus hindered the promotion of reading comprehension.

2. How to improve the ability of English reading comprehension for high school students

2.1 develop good reading habits

In the normal reading develop good reading habits and ways of thinking， help get exercise， thinking ability and help us to accumulate good reading comprehension skills and some common word did not appear in textbooks， and mastering a richer vocabulary. As in the process of reading， with uncommon words， do not hurry to find the dictionary， but must be good at in the context of inferring the general meaning， and marking， after finished a reading comprehension and use of reference books to find uncommon words again， after all， in the process of examination with uncommon word impossible to have the chance to read dictionary lookup words， therefore it is necessary to cultivate it. And as for reading when carries on the analysis of long sentences， requires us to have a solid English basic skill， able to skillfully use the phrase in the textbooks， fixed collocation and syntax， etc.， this will be the long sentence change numerous for brief， hard. English textbooks for high schools as a man in the text of Wildlife protection， this text mainly is the present progressive passive voice and the passive voice in English said the subjects action to bear， its main structure is to be + the done， be can be am， is， are， also can be was， were， and be what appearance， all what is tense， be behind the past participle of the same. “The song is liked by young people.” “The song is liked by young people.” “The song is liked by young people.” The students need to start from the textbook， study these sentence patterns， and master the ability to analyze sentences.endprint

2.2 Enhancements of generalization and inductive consciousness

Doing the reading comprehension process， will produce many scattered knowledge， such as word parsing， such as the content， the sentence pattern analysis notes for these scattered knowledge， need to pay attention to the systematic records in the notebook， enhance the consciousness and the ability of generalization and inductive knowledge. This is reflected in the entire article writing clue substance， the induction， avoid between articles， the phenomenon of out of context， so as to help us to grasp the focus of the article， outlining， grasp the theme of the article. As in English textbooks for high schools are the text Theme parks in the learning process， can use Comprehending part through interpretation subject Theme parks， filling the information， judgment， sentence， and discuss the article content to help students understand the text form of purpose， grasp the details， deepen the understanding of this Theme unit， it can help us better understand the Theme of the article content， to further strengthen understanding ability.

Improving the students English reading comprehension ability needs teachers guidance， and it also needs the students themselves to master more knowledge of English actively， pay attention to in the daily training of reading comprehension， develop good study habits， pay attention to the accumulation of knowledge and flexible usage， continuously enhance their ability of reading comprehension.
