我和狐貍村的情緣

Foxes are my guide animal. Whenever I'm struggling the most, they always show up somehow.

In January 2017 I traveled to Tokyo to get a TESOL certificate①certificate 英 [s??t?f?k?t; (for v.,) s??t?f??ke?t] 美[s??t?f?k?t; (for v.,) s??t?f??ket] vt. 發(fā)給證明書；以證書形式授權(quán)給……；用證書批準(zhǔn)n. 證書；執(zhí)照，文憑. I live in Mexico, so being in Japan is one of those once in a lifetime opportunity. That's why I couldn't let go the chance of paying a visit to the Fox Village.

It was a 2 hours ride on the Shinkansen (bullet train) to get to Shiroishi, Miyagi. Once I got there, I asked the guard could I get a taxi and he was super nice and called one for me. This is not a strange thing in Japan, it seems to me that everywhere people are extremely②extremely 英 [?k'stri?ml?; ek-] 美 [?k'strimli]adv. 非常，極其；極端地friendly and they go out of their way to help you.

5 minutes later, as he said on the phone, the taxi driver was there. On the way, he showed me an album of Zao Kitsune Mura(Fox Village) which only made my excitement levels go over the top.

狐貍是為我指引方向的動物。每當(dāng)我奮力前行的時(shí)候，它們總會莫名其妙地出現(xiàn)。

2017年1月，我去東京取一個(gè)對外英語教學(xué)證書。我在墨西哥生活，所以，這次來日本是一次千載難逢的機(jī)會。因此我不能放棄這次去狐貍村參觀的機(jī)會。

乘坐新干線兩個(gè)小時(shí)就到了宮城縣白石町。我一到那兒就問警衛(wèi)，我能叫一輛出租車嗎？他人非常好，為我叫了一輛出租車。在日本這并不是什么奇怪的事情，似乎無論我來到何處，人們都特別友好，而且他們會盡力幫你。

After 30 minutes we finally arrived. He gave me a card with his phone number and told me I could ask someone to call him whenever I was done.

The entrance fee is only 1000￥ (8usd) and they explain to you in English how to behave yourself inside. If a fox gets too close you are supposed to show dominance③dominance 英 ['d?m?n?ns] 美 ['d?m?n?ns]n. 優(yōu)勢；統(tǒng)治；支配. Don't lean down cause they might approach④approach 英 [?'pr??t?] 美 [?'prot?]n. 方法；途徑；接近vt. 接近；著手處理vi. 靠近behind you and try to bite. [經(jīng) ] 財(cái)產(chǎn)，所有物；親戚because they are territorial animals which mean they are probably gonna pee on your stuff. And most importantly, under any circumstances⑦circumstance 英 [?s??k?mst?ns; ?s??k?mstɑ?ns;?s??k?mst?ns] 美 ['s?k?mst?ns] n. 環(huán)境，情況；事件；境遇do not attempt to touch them.

Of course, I didn't follow any of these instructions⑧instruction 英 [?n'str?k?(?)n] 美 [?n'str?k??n]n. 指令，命令；指示；教導(dǎo)；用法說明. I traveled all the way from Mexico, what was I supposed to do,just not do it? And nope, I didn't get peed on.

30分鐘后，我們終于到達(dá)（狐貍村）。他給了我一張帶有他電話的卡片，并告訴我，無論我在何時(shí)結(jié)束參觀，都可以請別人打電話給他。

（狐貍村的）門票只需1000日元（8美元），而且他們會用英文為你解釋狐貍村里的規(guī)矩。如果一只狐貍離你太近了，你就應(yīng)表明自己的優(yōu)勢。不要俯下身來讓它們從身后接近你，并試圖咬你。留意你的背包和行李，因?yàn)樗鼈兪侨Φ乇P的動物，這就意味著它們可能會在你的東西上撒尿。最重要的是，無論如何，不要試圖觸碰它們。
