CHINA SOUTHERN WELCOMES THE A320NEO A320neo加盟南航

On December 15, a brand new Airbus A320neo landed at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, which is the fi rst of its kind received by a mainland Chinese air carrier. The A320neo (new engine option) is the world's bestselling single-aisle aircraft and China Southern Airlines plans to introduce 74 of them within four years. Among the enhancements incorporated on the A320neo Family jetliners are two latest-generation powerplant choices (Pratt & Whitney's PurePower PW1100G-JM and the CFM International LEAP-1A), the incorporation of Sharklets wingtip devices and additional cabin optimisation. The A320neo features more seats than the 260 A320s that China Southern currently operates. The carrier now boasts more than 700 aircraft, which makes it the largest fl eet in Asia and the fourth largest in the world (data source: IATA). It's also the fi rst airline in the world to fl y both Airbus A380 and Boeing 787.

AMERICAN JOURNALISTS VISIT CHINA SOUTHERN北美記者參觀南航總部

On December 13, ten American journalists, on invitation of China Southern's American Offi ce, visited the headquarters of Asia's largest air carrier based in Guangzhou.

The journalists include writers and photographers contributing to major American media such as National Geographic, USA Today, TIME, etc. They showed great interest in China Southern's daily operation with equipment including self-service check-in kiosks, CSMAP, fl ight follow-up display, airport monitor radar, among others.

The journalists also experienced a simulated fl ight in Zhuhai and travelled around famous Guangzhou tourist attractions with fl avours of South China.

NEW ROUTE TO TORONTO

南航開通廣州直飛多倫多航線

On December 8, China Southern's Boeing777-300ER arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport, marking the launch of Guangzhou-Toronto direct route. This is the second nonstop fl ight to Canada from Guangzhou, following the Guangzhou-Vancouver service which was opened in June 2011.

China Southern Airlines now has fi ve direct destinations in North America, and the services include Guangzhou-New York, Guangzhou-Los Angeles, Guangzhou-San Francisco, Guangzhou-Wuhan- San Francisco, Guangzhou-Vancouver, and the recently launched Guangzhou-Toronto. A total of 74 China Southern fl ights fl y to and from North America each week.

7300 ADDITIONAL FLIGHTS PLANNED DURING SPRING RUSH

Spring Festival is the most important occassion for the Chinese to reunite with their families. The Spring Festival travel rush (Chunyun) of 2017 will last 40 days beginning from Jan 13 to Feb 21. China Southern is estimated to transport nearly 11million passengers during the 40 days. Therefore the airline decides to add more than 7300 fl ights during the special period, including 700 international fl ights and 6600 domestic ones.

2000 BLUE FOXES ONBOARD CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES

On December 1, a Boeing 777 Freighter took off from Helsinki, Finland and arrived in Harbin in the North of China eight hours later. The Freighter with 2000 blue foxes onboard was the fi rst all-cargo fl ight operated from Finland to China. The blue fox is a rare kind of fox living in the Arctic area. With 12 Boeing 777 Freighters and two Boeing 747-400 Freighters altogether, China Southern has successfully transported all kinds of living animals including pigs, ermines, cows, horses and pandas.
