永遠不要停止相信

Around six months after our son Todd's death, our younger son Brandon (then almost three) began stuttering①stutter英 ['st?t?] 美 ['st?t?]vi. 結結巴巴地說話n. 口吃，結巴. Brandon and I went for a walk each night, and about this time we saw a dead, decaying②decaying美 [d?'ke] adj. 衰減的；腐爛的；消散的bird lying on the side of the road. Brandon referred to③refer to參考；指的是；適用于the bird as being "dead, just like Todd." He spoke of Todd often, and many people suggested that he needed professional help to deal with Todd's death.

As I prayed about Brandon's problem, it seemed that the Lord was telling me to bury the bird. But I argued against④argue against反對this. I did not even want to touch this one!

Finally, I gave in. We scooped⑤scoop英 [sku?p] 美 [skup] vt. 掘；舀取n. 勺；鏟子；up the bird in a bucket and brought it home. I told Brandon to shake the bird and call it; I did the same. I then told him that only Jesus could wake the little bird. I quoted⑥quote英 [kw??t] 美 [kwot]vt. 報價；引述；舉證vi. 報價；引用；引證the Bible and told him that one day Jesus would come back and call with a loud voice, and all who loved Him would come alive again. I said we would see Todd the minute Jesus woke him.

The next morning when Brandon woke up, he did not stutter, and he has not stuttered since that date. A miracle? Yes, I believe it was, and even though the idea to bury the bird seemed ridiculous⑦ridiculous 英 [r?'d?kj?l?s] 美 [r?'d?kj?l?s]adj. 可笑的；荒謬的to me it had been the answer to my prayers.

Never stop believing because miracles happen everyday!

我們的兒子托德死后大約6個月，我們的小兒子布蘭登（那時大約3歲）開始口吃。我和布蘭登每天晚上都出去散步，那次我們看見了一只死了的腐爛的鳥躺在路邊。布蘭登說：“這只鳥死了，像托德一樣。”他總是提到托德，很多人都說他需要專業(yè)幫助幫他面對托德的死亡。

之前我曾經(jīng)為了布蘭登的問題向上帝祈禱，而現(xiàn)在好像上帝正指引我要把這只鳥埋起來。但我卻不想那樣做，我甚至都不想碰這只鳥！

最終我屈服了，我們把鳥鏟進桶里帶回了家。我讓布蘭登搖一搖那只小鳥并叫叫它，我也那樣做了，然后我告訴他只有耶穌能把小鳥弄醒。我引用了《圣經(jīng)》里的故事，告訴他有一天耶穌會復活，然后大喊一聲，所有愛他的人都會重生，我說等耶穌叫醒托德我們就能看到他了。

第二天早上布蘭登醒來就不結巴了，而且從那天起再沒口吃過。這是奇跡嗎？是的，我相信這是奇跡，即使埋葬鳥的想法對我來說很荒謬，但這是對我的祈禱的回應。

永遠不要停止“相信”，因為奇跡每天都會發(fā)生！
