An eightyearold child heard her parents talking about her little brother.All she knew was that he was very sick and they had no money.Only a very expensive operation could save him now and there was no one to lend them the money.

一個(gè)八歲的孩子聽(tīng)到父母在談?wù)撍牡艿?。她只知道他病得很重，他們沒(méi)有錢?，F(xiàn)在只有一臺(tái)很昂貴的手術(shù)才能救他，但是沒(méi)有一個(gè)人愿意借錢給他們。

When she heard her daddy say to her tearful mother,“Only a miracle can save him now,”the little girl went to her bedroom and pulled her money from its hiding place and counted it carefully.She hurried to adrugstore2with the money in her hand.

她聽(tīng)到爸爸對(duì)滿含淚水的媽媽說(shuō)：“現(xiàn)在只有奇跡才能救他了?！毙∨⒆哌M(jìn)了她的臥室，把她的錢從藏錢的地方拿出來(lái)，仔細(xì)地?cái)?shù)，然后匆匆忙忙地去了一家藥店。

“And what do you want?”asked the salesman. “It’s for my little brother,”the girl answered.“He’s really,really sick and I want to buy a miracle.”“Pardon?”said the salesman.

“你想要什么？”售貨員問(wèn)?！笆墙o我弟弟買的?！迸⒒卮鸬?，“他真的病得很重。我想買一個(gè)奇跡。”“什么？”售貨員說(shuō)。

“My brother Andrew has something bad growing inside his head and my daddy says only a miracle can save him.So how much does a miracle cost?”“We don’t sell a miracle here,child.I’m sorry.”the salesman said with a smile.

“我的弟弟安德魯，他的腦袋里長(zhǎng)著一個(gè)壞東西，我爸爸說(shuō)，現(xiàn)在只有奇跡可以救他。那么奇跡賣多少錢？”“我們這里不賣奇跡，孩子。對(duì)不起?！笔圬泦T面帶微笑地說(shuō)。

“Listen,if it isn’t enough,I can try and get some more.Just tell me how much it costs.”

“聽(tīng)著，如果這還不夠的話，我可以努力掙更多的錢。你只要告訴我多少錢?！?/p>

A welldressed man heard this and asked,“What kinds of miracle does your brother need?”

一個(gè)穿著講究的人聽(tīng)見(jiàn)了，問(wèn)道，“你弟弟需要什么樣的奇跡呢？”

“I don’t know,”she answered with her eyes full of tears.“He’s really sick and Mum says he needs an operation,but my daddy can’t pay for it.So I have brought all my money.”

“我不知道，”她回答著，眼里滿是淚水。“他真的病了，媽媽說(shuō)他需要做手術(shù)，但是我爸爸沒(méi)錢付,所以我?guī)?lái)了我所有的錢。”

“How much do you have?”asked the man.”$1.11,but I can try and get some more.”she answered.

“你有多少錢？”男人問(wèn)道?！?.11美元，但我可以試著掙更多。”她回答說(shuō)。

“Well,what luck,”smiled the man.“$1.11,the price of a miracle for your little brother.”

“嗯，你真幸運(yùn)，”他笑著說(shuō)?！?.11美元——你的弟弟的奇跡的價(jià)格。”

He took up the girl’s hand and said,“Take me to where you live.I want to see your brother and meet your parents.Let’s see if I have the kind of miracle you need.”

他牽起女孩的手說(shuō)：“帶我到你住的地方。我想看看你的弟弟并和你的父母見(jiàn)個(gè)面。讓我們看看，我是否有你所需要的奇跡。”

That well dressed man was Dr.Carlton Armstrong,a famous doctor.The operation was successful and it wasn’t long before Andrew was home again.

這個(gè)穿著講究的男人就是卡爾頓·阿姆斯特朗博士，他是一位著名的醫(yī)生。手術(shù)非常成功，沒(méi)過(guò)多久安德魯就回家了。
