“Yishaozhai”, the former residence of Tao Xingzhi is beside the Gusheng Temple of Hechuan. There are three thatched cottage built by cob wall (now they are rebuilt to small tile-roofed houses), and they were old home of Yucai School, simple and unadorned. In front of the house, there is a lotus pond, and he named it “Zhouzi pond”, taking the implied meaning of the sentences “coming out of the dirty mud unsoiled, washing from the clear water unpolluted” of Ode to the Lotus Flower, written by Zhou Dunyi(who was once the assistant to the chief local official of Hezhou State), the founder of neo-confucianism of Northern Song Dynasty to teach students to be person like lotus. Zhou Enlai, Deng Yingchao, Feng Yuxiang and other people had once come here to settle down for a short time, and Tao Xingzhi had written a song called the Heye Wuge to make choreography to show people.
