“SIXTH SENSE” IS REAL

Scientists have known about a gene called PIEZO2 for 100 years, but a new study shows how it controls our '6th sense' of spatial awareness. NIH scientists discovered this by testing two girls who lack the gene, and neither of the girls can walk or reach for something when blindfolded. Lindsay Rodriguez and her colleagues surveyed young adults in romantic relationships and came up with the conclusion that greater longing for an ex is associated with decreases in satisfaction with your current partner over time, and decreases in satisfaction over time are associated with increases in longing for an ex. Rutgers University researchers have disproven the widely accepted notion that it's okay to scoop up food and eat it within a “safe” five-second window. Researchers found that moisture, type of surface and contact time all contribute to cross-contamination. BABIES WITH LARGER HEADS HAVE BETTER COGNITIVE ABILITY

Scientists at UK Biobank studied 100,000 Britons to see if there is a link between their genes and their achievements. They found that those with larger heads were “significantly”more likely to get a degree, as well as score higher on verbal-numerical reasoning tests.
