Fights between true masters are extremely quick affairs and involve no knock outs. Only a spar or two is needed to determine the school and level of training attained. The history of Chinese martial arts is extensive. There are numerous schools, styles, and moves. We have listed and brie fl y described a few of these moves.
TAIYI FIVE ELEMENTS FIST太乙五行拳
School of Origin: Wudang
Place of Origin: Wudang Mountain, Jun County, Hubei Province
Technical features: The Five Elements Fist is based upon the principles of mutual support and counter-acting effects between the elements, focusing upon intent instead of raw brawn, with particular emphasis on neutralizing an enemy attack instead of meeting it head on. Positioning must be perfected to the minutest detail in order to completely subdue the foe. Movement and serenity are combined into one to give a seemingly unpredictable fighting style.

技術(shù)特點(diǎn):以五行生克之理為依據(jù),講究尚意不尚力,貴化勁而不硬抗,辨位于分寸毫厘,制敵于擒撲封閉,動(dòng)靜自如,莫測(cè)端倪。
SHAOLIN LUOHAN FIST少林羅漢拳
School of Origin: Shaolin
Place of Origin: Shaolin Temple of Songshan, Henan Province
Technical features: Luohan Fist is a technical style of boxing that combines well-defined stances, ordered positions, and simple time-tested moves that could be easily linked to each other. Attacks are divided into upper, mid, and lower body targets. Inner and outer stances were divided into the elements of Yin and Yang. This fighting style focuses on attacking the opponent's lower target with an upper attack and vice versa, as well as diversionary moves to throw your opponent off guard. The style is fluid, flexible, and fast.

WENLU FIST 問路手
School of Origin: Wing Chun
Thrived in: Foshan, Guangdong
Technical features: This is a classical starting stance of the Wing Chun fighting style adopted by Ip Man, and is characterized by its elegant and breathtaking moves. The aim of Wenlu is to probe and search for vulnerabilities in an opponent before finalizing the attack.

TIGER AND CRANE虎鶴雙形拳
School of Origin: Hung Kuen
Thrived in: Foshan, Guangdong
Technical features: The Tiger and Crane boxing stance is a style that has combined the best essential features of various schools of martial arts. The moves include Jin (force) and Xing (form) of the Tiger (such as the Tiger Claw) and the Xiang (likeness) of the Crane (such as the floating elegance of the bird). It demonstrates both the domineering nature of the dragon and the tiger and the celestial spirit of the crane. Moves are agile, fast, and steady. All these advantages are combined to create the Tiger and Crane fighting style.

SEVEN STAR MANTIS FIST
七星螳螂拳
School of Origin: Mantis Fist
Place of Origin: Qixia, Shandong Province
Technical features: The Seven Star Mantis Fist focuses on intent instead of form. Flexibility is combined with strength, concealing actual attacks within feints to throw the opponent off guard. The style is characterized by kicks, hits, throws, grapples, and called shots.

技術(shù)特點(diǎn):七星螳螂拳重在其意,不在其形,剛?cè)釁⒕?,手法有虛有?shí),有正有奇。總則為踢、打、摔、拿、點(diǎn)。
ONE INCH PUNCH寸勁拳
School of Origin: Jeet Kune Do
Technical features: The One Inch Punch was developed by Bruce Lee as a deciding element of close quarter combat in Jeet Kune Do. This unique attack technique also has the smallest spatial requirement, fastest attack speed, and penetrability.
