More and more

1. 表示“越來越多的”，用于修飾名詞。如：

1) More and more people are moving to the city.（越來越多人向城市搬遷。）

2) More and more money was spent on it.（在這上面花的錢越來越多。）

2. 表示“越來越……”，用于修飾形容詞、副詞、動(dòng)詞、介詞短語等。如：

1) It’s becoming more and more diffcult to fnd a job.（找工作越來越困難了。）

2) We’re going more and more slowly.（我們?cè)阶咴铰?。?/p>

3) I worry more and more every day.（我一天比一天擔(dān)心。）

注意：有時(shí)用的可能是普通的比較級(jí)形式。如：

1) The weather is getting colder and colder.（天氣越來越冷了。）

2) Debbie is growing fast. She keeps getting taller and taller.（戴比長(zhǎng)得很快，個(gè)子越來越高。）

1. 表示“或多或少，在一定程度上，大體上”。如：

1) The job’s more or less fnished.（這項(xiàng)工作差不多完成了。）

2) I’ve more or less fnished reading the book.（我差不多已經(jīng)把這本書看完了。）

2. 表示“大約，左右”。如：

1) The repairs will cost $50, more or less.（修理費(fèi)大約要50美元。）

3. 表示“一點(diǎn)也不”，用于否定句中。如：

1) I don’t like it, more or less.（我一點(diǎn)也不喜歡。）

2) I didn’t understand it, more or less.（我一點(diǎn)也不懂。）

More than

1. 表示“多于”，通常后接數(shù)詞。如：

1) I’ve known him for more than 20 years.（我已認(rèn)識(shí)他二十多年了。）

2) There were no more than a hundred people at therally[集會(huì)].（大概不到一百人參加了集會(huì)。）

2. 表示“不只是，不僅僅是”，通常后接名詞、動(dòng)詞、從句等。如：

1) His report is more than a survey.（他的報(bào)告不只是一份調(diào)查。）

2) The result was much more than I imagined.（結(jié)果遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超過我的想象。）

3. 表示“極其，非?！?，通常后接形容詞、副詞或分詞等。如：

1) She was more than kind to us.（她對(duì)我們很友好。）

4. 表示“難以，完全不能”，其后通常連用情態(tài)動(dòng)詞 can。如：

That is more than I can understand. =I can’t understand that. （那事兒我無法理解。）

No more

1. 表示“也不”。如：

—I cannot understand this at all.（我根本不懂這個(gè)。）

—No more can I.（我也不懂。）

2. 表示“不能再多，沒有更多的”，表示數(shù)或程度。如：

2) I have no more to say.（我再?zèng)]有什么要說的了。）

3. 表示“不再”，表示時(shí)間。如：

I’ll go there no more.（我再也不去那里了。）

No more...than

用于兩者比較，并且否定兩者，其意為“不……也不……，同……一樣不”。如：

1) She’s no more a great singer than I am.（我不是優(yōu)秀歌手，她也不是。）

2) Tom is no more rich than Jack is.（杰克不是有錢人，湯姆也不是。）

What’s more

用于引出更重要的信息，其意為“更重要的，更有甚者，而且”。如：

1) He’s dirty, and what’s more he smells.（他很臟，身上還有味兒呢。）

2) They are going to get married, and what’s more they are setting up in business together.（他們就要結(jié)婚了，而且還要一起做生意呢。）
