I’m just a pretty normal 15 year old, and I1)managed towin a modeling2)contracton the BBC’s TV programme, but my life now isn’t that different from before I was3)scouted.I love to hang out with mates and my family and go shopping.Modeling has always been in the back of my mind but I didn’t really know if I4)had what it takes.

The day I was scouted I’d had a party the night before so was feeling pretty rough and wasn’t even going to bother going into town, but my mum dragged me.I was just getting off the train when we saw a flm5)crewat the station.

I was coming through the ticket6)barrierswhen Becky—one of the model scouts—started7)charging towardsme.I didn’t know what was going on and I was really nervous especially because they kept asking me loads of questions with the camera in my face.

I didn’t hear from her for ages after that so I just thought it wasn’t really going to happen.But then she called me up8)out of the blueasking if I could come to a casting day.

It was really exciting because we got to stay in a hotel but I was also really9)intimidatedbecause I saw some of the other models in the competition.I was convinced then that I didn’t have a chance of winning because they were so pretty and looked like professional models.But I just wanted to give it my best.

I was so shocked when they told me I’d made it though to the next stage which was a professional photo shoot.That was so much fun because I’d warmed up after the casting day.We had big hair and10)makeupwhich was11)brilliant, the clothes were really weird but quite cool.I really enjoyed myself that day.

I couldn’t believe it when I got through to the stage after that but I felt really bad for the girls that didn’t get through.So although I was happy I didn’t know how to react because I didn’t want to show it in their faces.

當(dāng)我得知自己晉級下一輪時，我簡直難以置信。同時我又為那些不能晉級的女孩感到十分傷心。即使我內(nèi)心感到高興，我也不知如何表達(dá)我的喜悅之情，因為我不想當(dāng)著她們的面表現(xiàn)出來。

After that we had to go to two castings for real jobs.The first was for Elle magazine which was really scary.We had to sit behind this12)massivetable with the13)editoron one side, it was so formal.The other one was for a catwalk show.That wasn’t as nerve14)wracking, but I was still practicing walking up and down outside because I can’t walk in heels to save my life.

There was no way I thought I was going to win at this stage because Niamh, my15)opponent, was16)stunningand I still couldn’t believe I’d got that far.When they eventually told me I’d won I was so shocked and completely17)over the moon.

Since the programme I’ve done a photo shoot for Shout magazine which was great.It was a jeans shoot with six different looks.I’m having my18)portfolioshots done on my Easter holiday, things have to move slowly because I’m still at school.

我想我不能贏下這輪比賽了，因為我的對手妮婭芙表現(xiàn)得太棒了，況且我還是不相信自己能走得更遠(yuǎn)。最后，當(dāng)工作人員告訴我我贏了的時候，我驚呆了，簡直是欣喜若狂。

節(jié)目結(jié)束后，我為《Shout》雜志拍攝了一組很棒的寫真。這是一組由六個不同造型組成的牛仔褲寫真。在復(fù)活節(jié)假日，我完成了寫真代表作拍攝。因為我還在上學(xué)，我不得不在模特事業(yè)上放慢腳步。

I’m really looking forward to seeing the programme on TV, all my friends and family can’t wait and it’ll be cool to say “I’ve been on TV!”Everyone at school’s been really supportive.A few girls have been a bit19)jealousbut I think you get that everywhere.

我真的很期待在電視上看到這個節(jié)目，我的朋友和家人都迫不及待了，說出“我上電視了！”這句話是一件很酷的事。學(xué)校里的每一個人都很支持我。偶爾有幾位女生會妒忌，但是我覺得這樣的事無論在哪里都會發(fā)生的。

My advice to anyone wanting to pursue modeling would be, if you think you’ve got what it takes defnitely20)give it a gobut don’t21)chaseafter it too much.It can be a22)harshindustry and it’s not what everyone thinks it is.It is a lot of hard work.I wouldn’t get your hopes up because if it doesn’t happen, you’ll feel really bad.

It really doesn’t matter if you don’t become a model.There’s loads of amazing jobs out there.I’m still staying on at school, doing myGCSE’s and want to do something involving sport if modeling doesn’t work out.But for now I’m really happy and excited because this is just the beginning for me.

對于那些夢想成為模特而又具備條件的人，我建議你們不妨一試，但切忌一頭栽進(jìn)去。不像所有人想象中的那么光鮮美好，模特可以是一個殘酷的行業(yè)，背后是極其繁重的工作。我不會貿(mào)然地點燃你的希望，因為如果希望破滅，你會很難受。
