1.People say that long,long ago,there was a monster called Nian.It ate the livestock in the villages every New Year’s Eve.傳說在很久以前,有一個叫“年”的怪獸,每到除夕,它就會到村子里吞吃牲畜。
2.The monster“Nian”was afraid of flames,red color and the sounds of explosion.So people hang up lanterns,stuck New Year scrolls,set off fireworks and stayed up to drive it away.This has become a Chinese most important festival—spending the nian.“年”獸最怕火光、紅色及炸響聲。因此,每年除夕,家家戶戶都掛燈籠,貼春聯(lián),燃放爆竹,一起守夜驅(qū)逐“年”獸。漸漸地這種習俗成了中國最隆重的節(jié)日——“過年”。
3.During the Spring Festival,family members make dumplings,New Year cakes,stick New Year pictures.Friends and relatives wish a happy New Year to each other.Little kids wish a happy New Year to the elders.春節(jié)期間,全家人團聚在一起包餃子,蒸年糕,貼年畫兒,親朋好友互相拜年,小朋友也要向長輩拜年。
4.There are many celebrations:dragon lantern dances,doing the yangkos and walking on stilts.在節(jié)日里,各種各樣的慶祝活動開始了:舞龍燈、扭秧歌、踩高蹺!
5.The happy festive atmosphere lasts a month.On the lunar January 15th,the Lantern Festival,people cook yuanxiao,watch lanterns to wish everything success.The Spring Festival ends after the Lantern Festival.節(jié)日的喜慶氣氛前后要持續(xù)一個月。正月十五是元宵節(jié),人們煮元宵,觀花燈,盼望自己萬事圓滿。元宵節(jié)過后,春節(jié)才算結(jié)束。
