■The Frogs and the Well

Two frogs lived together in a marsh. One hot summer the marsh dried up, so they had to leave it and look for another place.

They soon found a deep well.

One of them looked down and said to the other, “This is a nice cool place. Lets jump in and settle down here.”

The other frog was much wiser. He replied, “Dont be so fast, my friend. If this well dries up like the marsh, how should we get out again?”

■青蛙和井

兩只青蛙住在沼澤里。在一個炎熱的夏季，沼澤干涸了，因此他們不得不離開去尋找新的濕地。

他們很快發(fā)現(xiàn)一口深井。

其中一只向下看了看對另一只說：“這是個涼爽的好地方，就住這里吧?！?

而另一只較明智，它說：“別著急，朋友，如果這口井也干了的話,我們怎么出來呢？”

寓意: 凡事應(yīng)該首先考慮周到，然后再付諸行動。

■The Goose with the Golden Eggs

One morning a countryman went to his gooses nest, and saw a yellow and glittering egg there.

He took the egg home. To his delight, he found

that it was an egg of pure gold.

Every morning the same thing occurred, and

he soon became rich by selling his eggs.

The countryman became more and more greedy. He wanted to get all the golden eggs at once, so he killed the goose. When he looked inside, he found nothing in its body.

■生金蛋的鵝

一天早晨，一位農(nóng)夫發(fā)現(xiàn)自家的鵝窩中有一只金燦燦的蛋。

他將蛋帶回家，驚喜地發(fā)現(xiàn)這是一個金蛋。

此后，農(nóng)夫每天都能得到一個金蛋。從此，他靠賣金蛋變得富有起來。

農(nóng)夫變得越來越貪婪，他想一下子得到鵝肚子中所有的金蛋。于是他殺死了鵝，但是，鵝肚子中什么也沒有。

寓意:如果不懂得知足，貪得無厭，我們就會失去已經(jīng)擁有的東西。

■Save the Little Duck

A dog, a chick and a duck are good friends. One day, they are playing hide-and-seek. Its the dogs turn. He closes his eyes and tries to catch his friends. They are happy.

Suddenly, the duck falls into a deep hole. The dog and the chick cry, “Help!” A bird comes and says, “Lets ask the elephant to help.”

The elephant is playing near the river. Hearing the news, he runs to the hole quickly. The elephant puts his nose into the hole, but his nose isnt long enough. Then he thinks out a good idea. He goes back to the river and gets much water from it with his long nose.

Then the elephant puts the water into the hole. The hole is full of water, and the duck comes out.

This story tells us: Between the friendｓ, we should help mutually.

■救小鴨

小狗、小雞和小鴨是好朋友。一天，他們在玩捉迷藏的游戲。該小狗了，他蒙上眼睛正準備追他的朋友。他們玩得很開心。

突然，小鴨子掉進了一個很深的洞里了。小狗和小雞大叫到：“救命，救命！”一只小鳥飛過來說：“我們?nèi)フ埓笙髞韼兔Π??！?/p>

大象正在河邊玩，聽到這個消息后他馬上跑去了。大象把他的鼻子伸進洞里，但是他的鼻子不夠長。突然他想到了一個好主意。他回到河邊，用他的長鼻子從河里吸了很多水。

接著大象把水噴進洞里，洞里裝滿了水，小鴨子終于得救了。

這個故事告訴我們：朋友之間應(yīng)該互相幫助。
